I was coming out of a local Home Depot and made my way over to the Av. I see these two guys and a girl getting out of a Sport Track and walking past the Av. The one guy says to the other, " Man that's what I really wanted. They are hot I should have waited for that ." With that, my male ego kicks into overdrive, and I can feel myself grinning ear to ear ;D. The girl sees me going over to the Av., and yells "Nice truck!" The ego is flying now, then the clincher. She says to Mr. SportTrack " Maybe your truck can be like that when it grows up." ;D All this was in the same lot that the Av slayed the Riceburner. God, the Home Depot is great for the Testosterone ;)!

If you're ever start to second guess why you spent 30K+ for your AV and you need a little reassurance...just park in the loading zone of your local Home Depot or Lowes. The same thing that happened to Baron138 will happen to you. ;D It is uncanny.

Truckman :B:

I went to my local small town lumber yard today and the guy at the counter dug in his pocket and pulled out 30 cents. He said that was all the change he had and ask if i would change for him. I told him i would give him a freebe. He follows me out to my av to watch the change. I go through the whole thing, midgate up and down , window in and out, covers on and off. Anyway before i am done all of the counter people, the manager, and a couple of loaders watching the show.

It was great, a real ego builder. It sure made my head swell ;D ;D ;D

You gotta love that place....it's like a male playground....always so many things going on behind the scenes......people checking out eachothers trucks etc......I think some of those sport trak guys tend to have a chip on their shoulder....while on the GSP this weekend I had this white trak trying to egg me on with his mild......mild....acceleration......but just when you think you alone.......BANG.......what do ya know 2 more AV's coming up portside.....

For some reason he didn't want to play after that...I can't understand why?...

It is pretty cool when loading large dimensional lumber (more 4x8 sheets for me this weekend) and the Av just keeps eating it up. People just don't quite get how flexible this beast is!

Thanks, the cat is much happier now. As to 14's, not in this heat, need to get the intercooler &/or water injection. :7:

I thought that the next class was all booked up!!...oh well....I'll have to be put on a waiting list.... ;D

My best parking lot story is as follows.

I was with my wife going back to our truck. We get in and roll down the windows when 2 guys and a gal are getting out of their 4 door Ford PU and walk past ours. All three are staring at the AV. The first guy give a whoa  and the second says to the woman, 'hey that's the truck that changes into a car...' ??? I'm not quite sure what he was talking about, but I'm pretty sure I didn't need to talk to him. :2: It seems that he has enough confusion in his life. ;D

Be nice to the sport trac's, thats what I traded for my AV. Loved the ST but once I drove the AV that was it, traded it that same day. Only thing that I miss is my power rear window.

Man, talk about a thread being brought back from the dead..... Original post date of: 5/11/02?

Although, it did get my attention since I drive a Sport Track as a company vehicle. Biggest piece of garbage I've ever had. No room, can't tow, no power and the A/C smells like cabbage.

Then again, at least I don't rack up too many miles on my Avalanche. After a year and a half I'm up to 13,000...

I'm a few steps more in that direction.. My dad gave me an old Taurus wagon.. `Keeps the stop-start commute and grocery-getting miles off the Av.. `Sure is ugly though. And what a POS.

Another blast from the past thread

It may be a blast from the past, but it's still funny what the guys girl said to him about his truck >:D

I love stories like this. I have more than a few of my own. I'll drop the two most recent to share.

So I was over at my friends restaurant having lunch with him talking trucks (he drives an F150) because he wants to go custom with his truck. Anyhow, we are sitting there talking in the outdoor seating area and a family leaves. 5 people, I assume the parents and their 3 sons. Well I have a great view of the parking lot and they are all standing in front of my truck discussing something. Then I see their son take out his keys and start pressing his key fob, but pointing it at my truck. So I called over to them, "Like it?" The father looks back and says Oh yeah!!! You could just see the lust in his eyes. His son with the key fob looks over and says, "Can we trade?" I just laughed and told em to have a nice day while dad and mom walked over to their mid 80's model ford ranger.

Story number two was just the other day.

I had left the colleges parking lot where I attend school and turned onto the street. I had to get in the far left lane to turn and I am behind some little stock ricer car. Anyhow, I look in the rear view and see a state government vehicle (a newer model silverado) with the safety lights and decals and such. The guy is slowing as he comes up on my rear and has reached about 10-15 mph, no one in front of him thank god, because as he is passing me to stop at the light in his own lane, he seemed to momentarily forget all about stopping because his eyes are locked on my Av, his head is now sticking out his window... He actually kept moving out into the intersection a bit. Finally reality came back to him he gets this oh sh!t look on his face and he stops and has to reverse to get out of the intersection.

Hmm....  Well, around here, sport trac's are known as "chickmobiles" .......... they seem to be the choice of most chicks.........to buy and drive.......
That's just the way it is..........
No problem with me........... :-X
