I was outside our building and I saw a claddded SOM with ambers drive by.  You were heading west on Inman going toward Keith Street - Starbucks.  My AV was parked at the end of the lot, backed in toward Inman.

Anyone from here?

Wrong color AV, but EricB is in your town this week!!!
Yeah, I think I saw him on Monday... There was another one traveling the same road, same direction - it was a DGM with chrome rims and one I haven't seen around.  Well, I'm assuming it was him.

Yep, that would be me!  I was headed to Bradley Central!  Man I had to run all over Cleveland, TN to get to every conceivable gym for basketball camp, but all I can really say is what a BEAUTIFUL city!  Loved Ocoee Street!!!  You should'a come by to see me, oh wait!  How could you find me with all the other gyms I had to visit?!!?!?

I would love to live on Ocoee, but I don't think the neighbors will tollorate my 3 dogs - 1 being a beagle.

Well, that would have been my problem, as I kept going down Ocoee during lunch, post office runs, etc. assuming your camp was at Lee College.  No wonder I never saw your AV around there.

Also, sorry I didn't see your post about you not having room for your laptop... the Bistro that is in our complex usually has a couple of laptops and WiFi for the patrons.  I would go over there get a drink and surf the net after work.

We had WiFi in the dorms.  I was at Lee University for some of the time.  Just not all of the time.  We were staying in Medlin Dorm right there on Ocoee, and of course a lot of our time was in the main arena there, but then the games that the kids play started and we were sent to Bradley Central, Cleveland High, Cleveland Middle, The Arnold School, Prospect School, the Family Life Center at First Baptist Church, or either the rec center on campus.  With 4 teams there, and me being the only coach, I was running around Cleveland quite a bit!

 Sounds like you were busy...? Need to go back to work to relax...? >:D

No doubt!!!!  The coach that was in charge of the camp, aka the new Soddy Daisy coach, was talking about all the folks who run up and down Ocoee.  He said "People here love to run.  Not me!  If you see me running down Ocoee, call the cops because somebody's trying to rob me or something!"

Unfortunately, there were two boys at the camp who were robbed just across Ocoee from our dorm.  Not my boys, but a couple of boys from Alabama I think.  The creeps got their cell phones and their money.  I think the cops ended up catching them all later in the week.  I'll have to check and see.

While I'm thinking about my trip in that beautiful country which I had never seen before, has anybody ever tried a rafting GTG on the Ocoee?  Seems like with the motel and things right there, it would be a fun thing!

Thanks for the compliments on our countryside... The only GTG I tried was a Car Show our historic team puts on every last Saturday of the month... never thought about the Ocoee  :-[  even if people don't want to white water raft there is canoing close by or just hanging out at the rapids is fun.  There is also some camping around.

And the lake for fishing or swimming or just relaxing, not to mention the hiking trails that I think I saw.  AND if nothing else, there's just some great get away from it all and relax spots!!!

Sounds like I need to work on something...  It just makes me nervous - being from the same state as the Masters of GTG's :notworthy:

Don't sweat it!  Ralph and I pulled off a pretty good GTG earlier this month, and it was our first try at all.  It doesn't have to be huge to be good.  You plan, I'll show and I'm sure plenty of others will, and we'll have a blast!!

Hmm, I'm going to do some research on camping, cabins, motels, rafting, hiking, horse back riding, canoing, etc...  Finding out when the youngsters go back to school...

I'm thinking maybe late Aug early Sept will be good.  I think TrAV is doing a Hot Dog run in Aug and July is just too close...

We start back early April, but as long as it's a weekend thing, shouldn't be a problem.
