Just Noticed a really lifted Black (DGM?) on 190 in Garland he was heading towards plano -going opposite direction(NO pics).

looked in rear view mirror and he had a huge spare in the center of the tailgate and huge gas/water cans on the tailgate too...one on each side... he had lights on top also...

keep your eyes out....we need pics!

Might have modded the tailgate to swing out too. Otherwise he wouldn't have been able to use it. I don't see where there would be any point on the back to fasten just a swing out tire carrier...maybe it was mounted to the side though?
Don't the Envoy XUV's have tailgates that can be dropped or swing open? That's something I'd like to have - would shorten the reach into the front of the bed.

Saw him last week going thru DFW airport Gave him a thumbs up License plate was DVL-BUL was a sweet AV Black Z71 and yes a spare tire and gas cans on tailgate with lights on top mounted on rear tail light panel and lights on the Warn brush guard.

I think I found this guy's house today..... he was backed in, but had that huge top rack....

his driveway backs up to pleasant valley in garland just south of NE Parkway across from Hollywood Video..... looks like he added decals....

I put digi cam in truck....

I wonder if that spare mounts into the trailer plug? Thats about the only way I can see it working out. Who knows, maybe he talked to those guys that designed the external spare carrier for the H2 and got them to retro fit it. Now I forget who they were, oh yeah, www.smahummer.com

Dang, another mod I can't afford

Hey FSUGUY, did you ever get pics of this guy?  I think I saw him once in Denton.

got a better look... don't think it was him.... no spare on rear... sure looked like him at first .... but, he was backed in....

maybe he had it off....

I spotted a white one yesterday around 820 & White Settlement. I talked to him(Vince). He said that he made the spare tire holder himself. He used an accessory hitch ( one used to hold a cooler or luggage) and a spare tire mounting bracket. He cut them, turned the acc. hitch 45 deg. so that the tire would fold down, and welded them together. He shimmed the hitch( to keep the play to a minimun. It looked really sweeeet. He gave his # to me. I told him that I was a part of an avalanche fan club and that we would welcome him with open arms. But unfortunatly he doesn't have access to the net. If you want to call him, he said that he would be happy to answer any ? we might have. He seemed like a great a guy. If you want to talk to him about his mod, you cam send me a pm and I will give you his #.
