Sqeaky Brake Pedal?!?

I recently test drove an Avalanche and everything was great except for a sqeaky spring on the brake pedal. I think it was the brake return spring. It was quite loud and would squeak when taking my foot off the brake pedal. Has anyone experienced this before? The salesperson didn't sound too surprised like they had to fix this before. Does all it need is a new spring or some lubricant?

For some odd reason I have experienced this on every GM product I have ever owned, Chevy and otherwise. My Avalanche is the first one that didn't do it. I know JUST the sound your talking about, and I'll bet you hear a bit more when you put the pedal down versus on the return, almost like a bed spring getting stretched out beyond it's tolerance, but not as loud.

I'm sure more technical minded folks can answer the question. You can make your dealer work for their money too - and insist they do a dealer swap for the exact rig you want!

I have an '03 Av and I've been experiencing this annoying problem for at least six months. I sprayed some silicone lube near the spring area and it really didn't help. I'm heading over to dealer for another problem and I'll mention this squealing brake pedal. I'll keep you posted. Take it easy. :8:
