Squeaky Midgate

The last week or so I have had a squeak noise coming from the window area of the midgate when I hit bumps. It sounds like the seals possibly rubbing against the window as if it weren't in tight enough, but it feels secure. Tonight I'm going to spray some silicone lubricant on it to see if it stops. Has anyone else had this noise? Is there a way to tighten the window locks?

And yes, the midgate is closed tightly and the window is properly seated.

My midgate has never squeeked....Do you have a water leakage problem maybe?

If it squeeks it would have to be loose somewhere....

You did remove the window and then do the slam to ensure it is closed ...like that long thread in this section stated?

I noticed that sometimes my rear passenger side seat squeaks when it goes up and down over bumps. Only happens when the seats are up, not when folded.

YGMN,
I have already made sure that the midgate was closed tightly by slamming it. That did nothing for my problem.

I agree that it has to be loose somewhere to squeak, but don't know where. I was going to spray some dry silicone lubricant on it last night but got sidetracked. If I spray the window frame and the sqeak goes away then I will know that the window is loose. My theory is that the two latches that hold the window in aren't keeping the window tight enough and allowing it to move when I hit bumps.

Strangely enough I have no problems with water leakage past or present, even through some major storms and countless high pressure washes.

I thought you were on the right track, but then remembered that I had the squeak last weekend with 5 passengers in the car so the seats couldn't move if they were loose. Thanks for the input though.

Does anyone have any advice (other than getting rid of the av) on how to get rid of an annoying squeak from the plastic above the midgate window?
