Stalling at start-up and idle

Alrighty fellow AV owners. Started my AV up after going to the local mall and it did not want to stay running. Gave it some gas and it did stay running so I could get going. As I proceeded home, whenever I would stop for a light or stopsign, would seem to want to stall, lights would dim and the amp meter would dip below center line. After a 5 minute ride home on the highway, it seemed to run much better and would not dim the lights or seemed as if anything was wrong. Any thoughts as to what my problem was.

I am going to call GM dealer tomorrow and set up an appointment to have the truck looked at, just wanted to get some fellow owners thoughts, or see if similar problems had arisen with yours. Any and all comments would be appreciated. - Dave

A while back my AV had a hard time starting... and lights dimmed at idle... went through and checked battery, alternator... everything seemed ok.... turned out that it was the fuel pump.... don't know how it all corralated together, all I know is new fuel pump and no problems...

Drove truck today, highway trip of about 100 miles total. Truck ran great. Just have to be on the lookout for the problem again. Thanks for the input. Any one else with similar problems, please chime in.
