Last year we went to dinner after the lights.
I would be good with doing dinner again this year.

But, maybe a better option would be a late lunch before the lights?

I would like to arrive at Stan Hywet at 5 when they open.
I would also like to arrive together which would mean meeting somewhere then driving in together.
Perhaps late lunch could be the meeting place around 3:00/3:30?

Any preference to eating before or after?
Any preferred place to eat?

Our preference would be supper afterwards if it doesn't get to be too late.  How long did you spend at Stan Hywet last year?  If supper is going to push past 7:30 or 8:00 then we'd best go with an afternoon "lupper".

Yeah, we liked it enough last year that we are going again.  (y)

I think we were there about 6-8 last year.
But last year it was raining so we didn't stay any longer than necessary.
I think 5-7:30 should be enough time.

If (and that may be a big IF) we get out by 7:30, by the time we get to a restaurant and get served, supper is going to be 8:00 or later.  Sounds like we'd be better off with a meal before the lights.  We can always get an ice cream snack afterwards if we are hungry again by then.  :)

Pencil me in tentatively for this one. Its about 3 hours from Morgantown which isn't bad. Its also in betweenish last round of exams week and finals week so my schedule for the following week isn't too bad. I want to wait and see what its like a little closer toward the date. Ashley's college graduation is somewhere in the midst of December, so I will have to verify that before I commit!

How far in advance should tickets be purchased? Is there a cutoff limit for the particular day?

EDIT: I talked to Ashley and her graduation isn't until the following weekend. Turns out, unbeknownst to by fading mind, we talked about doing the lights at Oglebay that weekend with her parents  ;D so what is another couple of hours to see some great friends  Were not a definite yes, yet, but it isn't looking too bad. If we come, her parents will be coming as well most likely. Mom can't give me a definitive answer at the moment because she gets spread so thin around this time of year. I told her to calm down and finish off the leftover doughnuts..  >:D I'll let you guys know something in a week or two though  (y)

Tickets are available until they are sold out.  :p
I thought I saw a number of tickets remaining posted on their website when I purchased mine. :dunno:
Last year I could not order tickets online on the same day that we attended.
But you can get tickets at Stan Hywet on the same day.

Alright, We should know for sure whether were in or not by thanksgiving, so ill order them as soon as I know. This place looks so much cooler than Oglebay

This light show is much different than Oglebay.
Stan Hywet is not a drive-thru light display.
It is a self guided Manor House tour with a walking tour around the grounds including a light display set to music.
The green house is a nice additional stop on the walk around the grounds.

From the replies here, it looks like we'll be eating before going to Stan Hywet.
Any preferences for where to eat or type of cuisine?
I Googled dining in the area, lots of places in Cuyahoga Falls area.
I also need to find an ice cream place that will still be open.

Thank you Sir.  (y)
I mentioned that to Toots before seeing your reply.

Toots suggested Mary Coyle for ice cream.
www.marycoyle.com
780 W. Market St. Akron, Ohio 44303

It looks like we could eat there too.
I may have to scout Michael Trecaso's Italian Food.

Me and Toots got dinner and ice cream tonight at Mary Coyle.
The place is small.
Parking lot is muddy gravel.
Toots says the ice cream is good.
I think the dinner servings are small for the price.
I will look for a better option.
