2011 Avalanche. I replaced the stock with an Alpine. Bought the wiring harness that doesn't support factory chimes. (I prefer not having them.) Everything went well but it has a static noise when on. You can turn it up and not hear it but if the radio is on and there is nothing playing it's quite loud. It is not affected by engine RPM. Any ideas? I'm close to just ripping out all the stock stuff and running all new wires and speakers.

maybe the ohm on the speakers are different and causing the issue ??? ???

ground loop ???

antenna  ???

what about when you have aux of Bluetooth on

Check your cables are connected good

well what did you install and what did you keep?
What was stock radio system as I think there were a few different versions.
Check RPO codes in glove box.

Alpine IVE-W530. Stock everything else. It happens no matter what mode the radio is in. I took a picture of my RPO codes. Is there a place to decide them?

Is the harness compatible with the Bose amp you have.

I would say yes. The harness I had would power the radio but not turn the amp on. This one turns the amp on. I've narrowed the noise down to the tweeters. I think I'm going to just ditch all of this and re wire the whole thing. I ordered new Alpine separates yesterday so a little time (which we seem to have free time right now :) ) and some new speakers and I might be happy.

I think that is best, gut the system and direct wire it. That Bose amp is not what you think it is

I remember having to bypass the amp when I installed my setup back in the day.  I remember the audio guy said that was the best thing. (y)

IMO if you are going to run all new, then by a small 4-channel amp and you will be happy You did

Yeah running a aftermarket headunit through a dumb amp is one of the hardest things to do. Your better off gutting  it or you will have loud chimes or lots of static if the headunit has a built-in amp.

Thanks for the confirmation guys. I wasn't sure if I was just over thinking it or overdoing it. I tend to do both  :D

I'll do it my way and know it's right.  (y)
