Hi, hoping somebody can help me. I pickup my new AV tomorrow and I have been looking for the last few days on the net and have checked the forums here for ?stepshields? these are door sill protectors. These are manufactured by Auto Ventshade the same manufacture of Ventshades
http://www.autoventshade.com/products/stepshield.html.

But I have had no luck finding them, these things are great and very inexpensive I have had them on my last 2 Silverado?s. If any body can tell me if they were able to use a different model?s stepshields (Tahoe or Suburban) or if anybody found any other manufacture of similar product.

Thanks for any help

I also had thought they made these, but found for the cladded one. We didn't need them, since they were molded has part of the molding. This was the response I got from AutoVent. The WBH don't know.

Welcome to the club RADMAN!

When I was negotiating the deal for my 2003 Z71, I also took an Av for a spin that did not have the body cladding. It did not have the stepshield installed... BUT the salesman was willing to throw it in as a "freebie". When the dust settled I decided upon the model with body cladding.... and the stepshield was factory installed, although it does not match the grey cladding.... the stepshield is black.... yes another GM anomoly.

So, I'd be trying the dealership... the salesman may be able to get it for you at cost (mine did with other options that were not included), and also it would have the GM 3 yr. warranty if purchased at time of sale/delivery.

Thanks everybody for the info, just got back with the AV WOW what a great ride ;D ;D As you said I won't need the stepshields. I have 2 young boys 3 and 5 they went with me to pickup the AV and the ?sweet? (y) factor was how cool is it when you can take out the back window (it was surprisingly quiet on the hi-way) My wife really dislikes the Avalanche (ultra conservative Lexus driving accountant) So I need all the support that I can get in the household even if its from the boys

I was in the driveway putting on the ventshades (dealer threw them in when I went to p/u the truck for No Charge but I had to install) and must of had 6 or 7 different neighbors stopped by to check it out. Comments range from ?WOW?, ?love the color?, ?Neat?, and something about ?It?s a guy thing?. ???

Since my wife has been out of town for a few days I will get the real scoop from her tomorrow night on her return. She has never seen the Arrival Blue color before and has only been on a 5 minute test drive, so it should be interesting at least I have the boys cheering in my corner

PS ? dealer also threw in the wind deflector, but when I pulled it out of the box the instructions showed that there was to be some snap in fasteners but there was nothing in the box could anybody confirm if they are missing or do you only use the 2 sided tape.

Thanks again

Rob
