I was thinking about this trip today, and remembered it was in Savannah, and remembered when I was last down that way back in Jan, and came across a place that makes the best (IMO) chicken pot pies. So as a bonus to coming down, I can stop by that place on my way home and get a bunch.

Savannah. Especially River street.

Just did a quick Yelp search, didn't see anything for River St, but two that I bookmarked: Treylor Park and Molly McPherson's Irish Pub, both had 5-stars and had some great sounding food, esp Treylor Park.

River street area is a tough one to look for. As there is the actual river street which has a few restaurants but mostly bar and shopping.
The upper level is East Bay. But all are within walking distance.
Hopefully One night we can take a cruise down there in the Avs. Has been some great times and some not so fun times like when you plan on the drive and get 30 Avs ready to turn into the road leading to river to find it closed for the night due to pedestrian traffic.

Struggling to figure out how to make this work at this point ....  John's school restaurant opens for the quarter that Thursday....he's trying to find coverage for Friday but it may be that the boys & I drive down Friday & John flies in Sat morning....it would be insane with two kids to drive overnight Friday (such as we'd of done once upon a time).  Don't have the stamina we once did... Lol
