WILL THE STICKER ON THE VISORS COME OFF WITHOUT DAMAGING THE
THE VISOR. AND IF SO WHAT IS THE BEST TO REMOVE THEM.
PICKED UP 2002 WHITE Z71 ON MONDAY DON'T WANT TO TO LET THEM BAKE ON OUT IN ARIZONA TO LONG.

I don't think they can be removed without doing damage or at least leaving a mess. I think that they are applied with heat. So, even if you heat them up and get the sticker off - there is still the glue to deal with.

I hope that I'm wrong - I'd sure like to get rid of them too!

May someone better informed please reply to this question!

I tried removing one sticker on my Grand Am and it turned into a mess, so I just left it on. Now it looks worse than originally. I won't even try to take them off the Av.

I can't figure out why they need to be there anyway. Is it a law?

I've seen SUV's that have a sticker that explains how the vehicle can roll over. The Av dosen't have one of those. Does the Suburban have it?

Stickers seem to be getting more abundant and harder to remove.

On my '87 S-10 there was one obnoxious sticker on the headliner warning that if you drive like an idiot that you can flip the SUV. It peeled off with minimal damage. My '94 Saturn has stickers on the sunvisors but they are on the 'other' side - i.e. you don't see them unless the visor is flipped down. These are like the ones in the Av and look hard to remove. Then there's the Av - ugly!

I'm thinking of trying to find some color matching adhesive paper, iron on patch, or something to cover these eyesores.

:( It has to be for legal reasons or some mandate from the feds. (If I had to bet, I'd put my money on the lawyers making them do it.) These stickers are in most cars and trucks. All of them are almost impossible to remove. I am thinking that getting an aftermarket visor is the only option. Does anyone know of a place that sells after market sun visors? ???

I've never removed any of mine. ?I just get use to them and being the fact that there's a warning on them I personally think it's best to leave them on in case someone needs to know. ?I wonder if you could order brand new sunvisors without the stickers and send the other ones back? ?If they're on plastic (I'd have to go out and look) ?WD-40 always works good for me. ? Some people suggest heating them up. ?It got rid of the stickers, but now I have the sun shining through the hole I left from my blow torch. ?Just kidding!!! ;D ;D ;D

The Stickers were the first thing that had to go. :cautious:
In case it came out badly, I had a matching slip over sun glasses/pen/paper holder to cover the visor.
Trying to peel the sticker DOES NOT work. :-[ The sticker brakes apart as you pull it.
The best you can hope for is to peel a 1/4 inch section along the length (left to right). The peel usually breaks after 1/2 - 3/4 inch section. Then you must start the procedure over, and over again. Start the peeling with a sharp razor blade, and don't cut into the fabric.
When finished the passenger side (done first) had these light "Paste/Glue" lines where the sticker was. The paste does blend in slightly with the light grey visors, and is not completely rejectionable.
With this being "OK", I proceeded to do the drivers side hopping to repeat the same results. Unfortunately :(, the drivers side visor had three (3) holes under the sticker. I was careful in not making these holes, and am sure that these were in the visor prior to the sticker. I guess in Mexico, if you cover the defect, there is no defect. :p
Anyway, Good Luck in removing the stickers. Maybe someone will make a matching sleeve that fits over the visor (and leaves the mirror open). ;D

I put a CD wallet/holder on the driver visor, so I never see the stickers. I had them in my Passport, and after trying to remove them, realized it was a bad idea. I got used to seeing them in that truck, so I never even noticed them in the Av.

A little bit of lacquer thinner should do the trick but be VERY careful with the stuff as it is extremely flammable and the fumes can stay trapped in enclosed areas for days. In other words, if you're a smoker do it outside with all of the doors open! :p

well... i would first suggest getting as much of the sticker off as possable.. then get couch upulstory aresol cleanter.. it smells awful, but a little rubbing and a little repeat.. you wont get color fade, but you might have to scrub it a bit with a brush, if its just glue thats left behind rubbing alcohol will usually take it off.. but you have to keep at it cause rubbing alcohol tends to make glue turn a darker color and ball up before it finally releases on cloth it might not work that great, but if you keep at it you can get those pesky stickers to go away...
