Stickers On Truck Cheesy???

For vf454 about the Z71 and P66 meanings:

As stated earlier the Z71 is a tribute to the Zora Arkus-Duntov "Z" RPO codes, the P66 is in reference to historic Route 66, and is the road 2wd option.

Cheers, Jim

Got them from GM Parts Direct --- part #15051184.
I think they were about $5 each !!!

Come on!!! Where are the pictures???

What is the process of removing the factory Z71 decals? I really want to get the Decal King Flag one similar to Lazkat's.

Check ecparks sig for the pics.
Factory decals come off with a bit of heat- hair dryer, heat gun, let truck sit in the sun a few hours. I used the sun method, then started working the edge of the decal with a plastic spoon till I could grab the edge and peel it away. I finished up with my clay bar but a tested adhesive remover would work(3M).
Here's my current decal

Thanks on both parts! I want to add some more patriotic accents to the Lanche, but I'm tired of the flag pole on the window thingy. I got the flag bowtie, and I think the flag Z71 would compliment that ideally, without being 'too much'.

BTW, I like your Z71 decal, it looks great on the black. I'm still hoping to see your rig on the Parkway or something one of these days.

Did you guys have a hard time with spacing and centering your new decals ???

And any scratches or marks in removing the old ones?

That's what's holding me back from changing :cautious:

No trouble for me. I measured down from the side boxes and over from the tail light assy to keep things even. You can't see both sides at once anyway so it doesn't have to be an exact match. No marks from removing the old ones either ;D

I just got the Z66 American Flag decals installed. Got them at Decal King. Brent is awesome to deal and communicate with. They original decals came off quite easily since I parked the rig out in the SC sun. And there were NO razor marks underneath where some people have said they had them. I was cringing and hoping I wouldn't see any when I was pulling the original off. They look great on the Lt. Pewter Met. and the new ones were easy to install and aren't showing any signs of coming off.

Carnac, you're invited to my next trivia night. Where do you get this stuff?

It is definitely a matter of preference. I have the Pewter 1500 / Z71. I never cared for the orange sticker, either, so I removed it.

I recently had an acquaintance that does decals/graphics, put "Heavy Chevy" on my windshield in the Pewter color with Hawthorn-type fonts (pics forthcoming). I was going to have him do the Z71 logo in the same font type and a couple of shades darker that the Pewter to replace the orange decals. However, I am most likely getting some body side graphics done by the same guy. These will extend to the rear quarter panel and we're going to design a new Z71 logo that will "connect" to the body graphics.

I like the way stickers can dress things up, the only thing that turns me off is when folks tend to get a little carried away and make their vehicles look a little too ridiculous.....I would like to get different Z71 decals put on the Av.....the gray ones are looking a little bland... :B:
