Yes, I've searched the archives but there is no direct answer/personal testimony.

Do YOUR stock (don't care for the debate on the width) 2500 Avalanche rims (they have eight bolts) work with 285/75R16 tires?

Rubbing? Grinding? Spacers?

My 2500 has 265/75/16 and they don't rub at all. All I did was raise my front torsion bars which lifted the front of the truck some. I was told that 285 would not fit with out lifting the truck. I got new rims but they should work with the stock rims.

Good luck

IMHO 285/75/16's will not fit on a standard 2500 if you want to do anything but drive straight ahead - as to rim width that you don't want to debate, think long and hard about abusing a tire like that on a 6.5" rim

YES!

Yes, 285/75R16 tires do fit under the truck with no rubbing under normal driving. Congrats to the guys at Ann Arbor Belle Tire for knowing their product and the vehicles capabilities.

Now at full lock with the suspension compressed I can't say. However, if you have your truck at full lock and the body leaned over *that much*, you have much bigger problems ahead. :3:

Mtnmtr-

This is exactly the question I had. 285/75-16 on stock 2500 rims. The America's tire guy said it was OK and I plan on doing it.
How did the ride change? Do they look funny on the narrow rim? What brand did you get? Load Range?

Thanks in advance.
