Storage Pockets on side of bed

I've been wondering about this since I bought my avy.  I normally use them to store a tool kit and jumpers on one side and straps on the other.
What doesn't help is that I live on a VERY dusty dirt road and both sides are totally caked in road dust. Been trying to figure out where it all came from, guess the drain hole would be the obvious reason.
are there seals on the doors? Some may fall off.

Yeah, there's thick seals on both. They're in great condition, but if there's a drain hole on the bottom of the colder that could be the issue. I'll have to check it out in the spring.

What some members have done is cut a kitchen sponge and stick a small piece of it in the drain hole to allow it to still drain but it prevents the dust from coming up.

I have always thought about putting boat hatch doors in the inside of the bed to better access the side storage bins. I am scared to pull the trigger on it though.
