Strange Knob--what Is It?

Does anybody know what this strange knob is next to the brake pedal?

It seems to turn and I didn't want to mess with it. What is this box anyway?

I know the question sounds strange but the only stupid questions are the ones unasked.

I tried doing a search so I didn't have to start a new thread but came up empty--most likely wrong choice of words for the search. It probably has been discussed to death at another thread but....

Bet you guys haven't installed an electric brake controller on your AV's yet, or you would have had to unscrew that knob - actually a nut. ?After unscrewing and removing it, you will see that it is only a plastic nut on a metal stud. ?Pulling the box cover off at this point exposes the fuses and some connectors. ?One of the empty connector sockets is for the electric brake harness that connects to the brake controller.

I got tired of not being able to listen to the radio while I was cleaning the Av (on the inside with the door open) and you know the sound when you have the key in the ignition and the door *DINGS* well I cut a wire and no more ding
