Subaru Baja Meets 2003 2500 4x4 Avalanche

You think you could fit one of those Bajas in the back an AV like the Caddy ads? :0: Like migate squared! :6: I know, that was really bad. Sorry. :p

No, GM does not own Subaru - Subaru is owned by Fuji Heavy Industries of Japan. ?HOWEVER GM has investment in Subaru and several show cars have been based on the Outback chassis and using the Subaru horizontally opposed boxer 4 cylinder engine, raising speculation that Subaru will be getting into a larger relationship with the General, or bought outright long term.

I BELIEVE that GM now technically owns Isuzu, doing a similar manuver that Ford did with struggling Mazda, and now has a controlling number of shares in the faltering SUV and truck company.
Actually the way I've read it is that GM owns part of Fugi Heavy industries and they also have a small stake in GM. There was a concept chevy last year, I can't remember the name right off, but it kinda looked like a dune buggy with chevy round taillights, more agressive Impalaesqe fender lines, and the "new" chevy truck front end and it rode on a WRX platform!! :B: Please don't let them make a Chevaru!!!! :C: :B:

GM lists Fuji/Subaru and Isusu under GM Network, whatever that entails.

When I was in Pasco, WA and stoped and looked at the 03 AV I stoped and looked at the Subaru Baja it has a little tiny "mid-gate" so they say

here is a pic

As far as the porthole goes.....I get a bigger hole when I fold down the rear seats in my 01 Impalla :6:

Surely it would be better to have the "porthole" off to one side and a split rear seat. Then you could fold down one side and use the "porthole". Seems funny to lose the whole back seat for such a little through space.

a waste of money. you think? i saw one today at the Subaru dealer. the saleslady asked if i was interested. i laughed. she should have known better to ask that question with my AV no more than 2 feet away.
BTW i was picking up parts for a Jeep i was working on. so don't get the wrong idea. just making some extra money for the GTG.

As I remember, ?Subaru is owned by GM. ???? I don't know if thta's true or not but that's what I saw on ?a website once. If it is owned by GM, than maybe GM just wants to make another version of the Av. ?:0: That's what the Caddy (EXT) is, right?

That's right GM actually own a percentage of Subaru (20%), they are using their Gearboxes for our New Australian GMH model 4x4 Ute. Helps to offset prices, and introduce new technology to cars with more options.
I'm pretty sure that Australian GMH is going to head more towards the UTE 4x4, than the full body truck styles of the U.S.
Isuzu is also subsidery of GM (Gm own 49% of Isuzu, which are available in Australia, South Arica, Middle East and Asian Countries.
