I don't know how it works for others but for me detail spray makes quick work of bugs on my paint. Once you have a few coats of Quik detailer on the bugs come off easy with a simple touch up, works on the cladding too :0:

To help keep the windshield clean, try the RainX green washer fluid. I get mine at WalMart and think the slightly higher cost is worth it. Rain - and everything else - bounces right off and it's easier than applying each time I wash the Av.

Detail spray is available from quite a few manufactuers. I use Meguiars myself but there are a lot more products out there. Detail spray is used between waxes to remove road dust and to do a light cleaning. Mequiars states "For fast touchups on all paint finishes" ;)

Rain-X is a must in buggy areas. Allows them to get washed off a lot easier than without it. As for the front end, I use Simple Green cleaner. Wet it with a hose, then a light spray of SG. Let it set for a minute, then use a grill brush to do the scrubbing. Bugs come right off. There is also a bug remover on the market called SPLATZ that works rather well.

jdw174, do you use a brush on the paint too?
 I would be afraid of scratching my clearcoat. Why go out and buy another product, if you have detail spray it'll work as well if not better and won't harm the finish.

There just ain't all that much paint on the front end of an AV except for a little around the grill. I have a bug shield guarding the front of the hood. The brush is fairly soft bristled too. Around here, bugs grow big and there's a LOT of them :8:
