Sunset Orange Metallic Bowties

As many of you know, painted and designed bowties is a very popular mod among our Avalanche enthusiast community. For several months, I've been trying to decide what to do about this since my color, Sunset Orange Metallic, is somewhat rare.

I attempted to order SOM paint from my dealer, but they had some ordering difficulties and I never recieved my paint. Now, I've decided to go another route. I have been in contact with our resident bowtie expert Carriles , and he is willing to explore the possibilities of a Sunset Orange Bowtie.

Here are the details. I need to get vested interest from at least 5 people in order for this to work for Carriles. He can make bowties with or without designs on them. Bowties with designs are $45 and bowties without designs $35.

So let me here from those that are interested.

Who say's you could get another and switch them out?

I'm leaning toward the one w/o design.

You might even be able to save on shipping, WV, you might be able to get it from Les at a GTG.

I would love to do the same thing for my sage green metallic, but I have a feeling that there are only 5 in the entire US

Not quite that bad, but for sure much more rare than the SOM

I am intrested in a plain one. I have a 03 wbh som. Do you know if the bow tie is interchangeable. ??

If you are asking if you can swap your bowties out, the answer is Yes

.
I have made many WBH bowties for our members. It takes a little more work, but is still not diffucult.
If you are asking if you can use a reg claddes AV bowtie on your WBH, the answer is NO. For some strange reason GM decided to make things dificult for me.

The Price of $45 for bowties with designs are for designs I have already made. Like the ever popular wink

Custom designs have to be reviewed to see if they are possible. I get some pretty interesting design ideas. If you look at my other designs, you can get a feel for the simplicity that works best.

As for the permisson thing. I have always found it easier to go ahead. Then beg for forgiveness as to ask for permisson. Married 26 years a couple of them have been good.

I would definitely be interested, especially since I have spoke with Carilles about it before. I would also probably buy two of them... not sure one the designs, but put me down for at least one...

Chad you are doing great!

What would be the ultimate, is to have all the bowties either plain, as discussed or have a common design. I could wip them out pretty easily if they are all the same. Less cleaning of the paint gun, means faster turn-around time.

After 3 days, looks as though we've drummed up some interest.

Still haven't heard from several people than I sent PMs to. Guess they're either too busy or not interested enough to even respond.

I will def. go for the without model...I'm wondering why the General didn't paint them body colour to begin with?
Prob. money , ease of installation , etc. ...but that would have been sweet. y'know for grandma' in front of y'all on the highway; since grill is all she can see anyhow, she'd at least know what colour was following her.

Can you put me down for a SOM with a Scowl in black? Also would it be possible to add "Mongo" to another SOM bowtie like you did for Bonedog?

I have a 2002 Cladded AV. No design on my bowtie. >:D

And like Mongo, please let me know how much and where to send it.

Do you plan on keeping SOM as a regular color? Just curious if it will still be around if I decide to get a design later on.
