So I found this supercharger that says it only fits GM 2003-2007 (including 2003 Avalanche), now wouldn't that same supercharger fit onto a 2002 Chevy Avalanche(Same 5.3l v8, and it was also pre-ordered in 2001 if that makes a big difference). Here is the supercharger: https://www.jegs.com/i/Edelbrock/350/1577/10002/-1

very small % of 2002 were cable throttles - Built prior to June 2001

difference is computers and their language.

Should be able to make it work.  I'm running a supercharger on my 03 that was previously on an 02.  I know on the 02 a Fuel Management Unit was used to bump up the fuel pressure when under boost.  Not sure off-hand why - maybe the 02s ran a lower fuel pressure.

I think it had to do with the return type fuel system versus returnless. That, or possibly a higher capacity fuel pump on the 03+.

I bought my 02 in June 02, built in May 02. It had cable driven throttle. Maybe it was an albatross.

03s have a return fuel system - didn't the 02s as well???

you had early one..

mine has drive by wire and normal return fuel system like others.

I'm pretty sure on the Gen III's it changed in 04? Same year they moved the fuel filter from in-line to in-tank I believe.

My 03 was return still checking on my 04 so far it looks returnless. Will know for sure when I make
the magical access hatch.

02's use a return fuel system. The fuel pressure is limited by the regulator and the excess is returned to the tank.  03 and newer are regulated at the fuel pump.
