Hello,
I have been searching around the tune repository for a 2007 Cheyv 5.3 Superchip tune and i cant find one. I know there are a few member on here with Superchips and Hptuners and I know they are some files floating around and was wondering if someone could send them my way for a base map please.

Superchips 93 and 87

Nope...no supercrap tune in my "repository" yet for an 07. I do, however have several stock 07 tunes that I have been playing with under HPT....

You need to be real careful about using someone else's tune on your truck.... especially if you do not have the capability to log the results.....

I havent had much time to get my with tuner friend who owns a dyno as I have been busy with my job. But i was hoping to snag a Superchip File and just upload that for now in the mean time. plus it is also good to use as base map i would think.

I swore I have seen a few people talk about superchips who had hptuners as well.

You have... but the two file formats are different.....

So I assume you don't want to learn how to tune, just take someone else's tune and throw it in your truck? Sort of defeats the purpose of having a tuner doesn't it?

Actually, I'm w/Sirius.
Being new to the world of tuning myself, it would be quite helpful to see a "canned" tune for an 07.? That would make for a nice place to start, to see what the "tuning" companies tune and then try to understand why.? It's not that I don't want to learn how to tune, I just think it would shorten the learning curve a bit.? I understand that it would take someone with hptuners to read a "pre programmed pcm" and that's not likely to happen anytime soon.
There doesn't seem to be much info here or on the hptuners forum that's 07 specific and newb friendly, and nobody, other than Waz, has responded to my requests for enlightenment, other than "read the help files" or "watch the demos" or "read this thread", which I've done.? No sense in trying to reinvent the wheel if it's already been done.

But what both of you guys do not understand, is he is asking for an unknown tune to install into a truck it was not tuned for.... Contrary to popular belief, every tune is different in different motors. He does not have the capability to log what he is putting in the PCM, and there are lots of reasons to resist that once you actually know what to tune too....

As far as you go, if you have followed these tuning forums any at all, you will find a rash of members that have bought HP Tuners of late. I personally, am helping 9 people right now tune trucks. All of different years and mods. If you get with anyone person that can point you in the right direction, you will learn how to tune and not just enter info someone else has used in their particular setup. The wheel is reinvented on every tune, on every motor. Those of us with the patience to learn to tune, wind up getting overwhelmed with helping others that are struggling.

I helped Waz when he first started and he is by far the best set of ears and patience on these boards among those with less than a year tuning.? He will provide good guidance and you have probably figured out he will go beyond what most will to help you out. And there is no way in the world you will ever convince me that you have been to HPT forums and not gotten help. I have tuned with those guys for over two years and I can name at least a dozen guys that would jump all over your "07" with no problems at all...  Look there, not here for tuning help... this is a truck board... that is a tuning board....

Have patience and you will learn to tune correctly. Take shortcuts and you will wind up with a mess in a hurry.... Many have tried that prior to this and have proven it time and time again....

Good Luck.? ? ...and by the way, you have a canned tune.... GM sent you one with your truck..... :D

I checked a few caned tuned myself.Honestly it's not much.
What I did with mine.with help by Flabouy.
played with VE table and MAF.
gave it a little more timing.Removed torque mamagement, played with shift timing and shift points at part throttle.
A proper WOT Air/fuel ratio would probably give you the most HP,But you need a wideband O2 sensor to fix that.

But I'm not familiar with the new 07 VE table.but I think the rest of the stuff could work with yours.

Thanks for the clarification.? I thought I had read many posts here and over on hptuners related to tuning, but maybe not.?
I thought I actually read somewhere here that hptuners is far and away the best tuning solution available, and there are several folks here willing to help one get started tuning, but maybe not.? That's partially why I purchased it instead of a handheld.
I thought it would be helpful to "view and compare" a 07 predator or super"crap" tune to my stock tune just to see the differences and try to get a better understanding of the concept of tuning, not necessarily just copy another tune to my truck.? I've seen predator tunes from the gen 3's, I think I've actually downloaded a couple from the hptuners repository and viewed them, but maybe not.
I get that each motor is different and requires different tuning for optimum performance.? I get that it's not a good practice to just throw somebody else's tune on my truck and call that tuning.? But, what I don't get, obviously, is why some people have to belittle others for asking questions about something they don't know the answer to.? Isn't that the point of asking questions?? Maybe not........
