Does anyone have pictures of any switches mounted into the small cubbie in the sunroof conole?  I'm planning on adding some driving lights and thought that would be a sweet location for the switches and wondered if anyone has done this before.

Thanks!!

I used black marine lumber AKA starboard.  Can be found in most boating supply stores.

The folks without a sunroof get lots of space to play with. Those of us with sunroofs get a nice open air feel, but a slit for storage.

Here is what I came up with... What do you think?

I've integrated my dual battery controls as well as my electric fan monitor and override. Threw some switches for my 110V inverter, my CUBBYCAM and future external lights.

I tried to get a factory look to it. It was a total pain in the butt, but I think it turned out okay. The labelling was the biggest pain.

That looks about the best I've seen  :D

Do you think you could write up a "how to" for how you made that?? Especially with the labels.  Really clean.

I really like how everything is labeled!

I have seen teksavy's panel in person. It is awesome and well thought out. Good job Ed. I hear your design has filtered through a couple other SoCal members too!

now that's a nice set up!

I'd be happy to share how I did this one, but for some reason the pictures I took during the construction got erased on a corrupted memory card. Aggh. I'll have to remove the unit and take more pictures. Once you see the pix, you'll see how its made.

This is the only one that I'd done/sold like this. However, the panel that Sparqui is talking about is the same that SoCalCindy has in her rig. I sell those and the nice thing about those is that they are backlit unlike mine above. I just installed one in CAHIKRs truck with the help of Wind4Power. Looks very good. Here is a picture of it:

I sell the switch panel above for $49 to your door and include the black ABS plastic piece that you cut to fit your overhead cubby. It only works with sunroofless trucks since it has the bigger cubby. Lemme know if you are interested.

that looks deadly could you  send me some info on it i would like to do something like that in mine, i have the sunroof, but think thats totally cool how you made that look in yours,

Finally got around to installing an overhead switch panel. Had to send the switches back and get an exchange for the red ones.

10 red LED switches and I need more?

I purchased them from SoCal Diesel and yes they are pricy but it's machined from a block of aluminum. Sharp product and worth the price.

Looks good George Now get some labels on  When I borrow you truck I could be stobin someone when I wanted to blow the horn

Yep, I was thinking labels also but not sure how to do it and make it look good. Engraver?

teksavy,

that panel is just awesome.  so clean.  could you give some measurements, specifically inside the frame?  i am interested in modifying it to fit a sunroof cubbie and think it can be done easily if i can remove the frame.
