Now, what did they cost, and where did you buy them? Also, do they come in SS? Thanks

I purchased mine used from another member. They do come in SS and the black as you see. I have seen them from about $120 and up depending on what brand etc. These are "Manik". I did not know I would like them until I after I put them on.

When i purchased my Waag grill guard i also ordered the tail light cover grills when i was looking at the distructions i saw that the only way to attach them was with the two small screws that hold the tail light assm. to the truck not much strenght i think if you were to have a problem of road the guards would be knocked of as well as the tail light assm. so i never installed them and got my money back they did look good BUT ?????

Hi yall, new here just had to add my 2cents worth. Got the SS guards installed by the dealer when we bought my AV. They are so sweet!
Been a proud AV owner for 3 weeks!

Love this place! :B:

I had the Waag tail light gaurds too. First trip through a car wash they both bent outwards. Man those chamois are brutal  I returned them. Look good but no real good way to mount them so they use the 2 tiny taillight screws that barely hold on the taillights.

WOW, how in the world did they bend? I know that they attach with the tail light screws and have the bent bracket that fits around the front of the tail light but as thick as the metal is how in world did they bend out? Did they break the tail light? Just wondering.

The Waag use the 2 taillight screws and they give you a little 1" by 1" pad with tape to stick on the front edge of tailight lense and this clips onto the gaurd. It dont take nothing to pull it off the clip and the chamois went in between the lens and gaurd and walla----they pull outwards as the 2 brackets that use the screws are real thin. Design was poor to justify high price and lets face it, they are for looks only, so I returned them.

I've had my WAAG's on since last July with no problems. The 2-sided adhesive pad is working fine for me. (y)

I also have WAAG's on the wife's 99 Suburban. They have a rubber bumper in place of the adhesive pad. We use touchless car washes, but the guards are always pulling away. I noticed a couple of days ago that there is a gap of up to an 1/8 inch between one of the bumpers and the taillight lens on one side, and a smaller one on the other. I guess it's time to take them back off again and make some more adjustments. :E:

I just bought some used WAAG taillight guards. Anyone have the installation instructions? I haven't received them yet, and I'm sure that it can't be difficult, but I'm curious about this 2-sided adhesive pad thingy. :)

I doubt that I still have my instructions, but it should be pretty obvious. Clean side of taillights where adhesive thingy will stick. Drop the tailgate. For each side, remove to screws securing the taillight assembly. Remove cover from adhesive thingy, place guards in place with screw tabs over holes of previously removed screws and press adhesive thingy onto taillight. Replace screws. Repeat on other side. Put tailgate back up. Stand back and enjoy the new look of your truck! :B:

You may need to buy some new 2-sided adhesive thingys from an autoparts or other store.

I guess I'll just wait and see if the location of said "adhesive thingy" is obvious. :)

Is the original like 3M molding tape (black tape, red peel off)?

A picture's worth 1000 words if somebody could post a closeup of where the tape should go.

Thanks!

I'd try a picture but it's raining here right now. :cautious:

On one of the middle horizontal bars of the guard there should be about a 1 inch square surface attached such that it can slide along that bar. That is where the adhesive thingy goes. It is your basic 2 sided 3M type spongy adhesive "tape".
