I recently found and bought my (2nd) Avy, a 2013 Black Diamond with 135,000 km on it, and we're currently towing our 27' Airstream Argosy travel trailer around the southern States with it before we head home to Alberta. Love the truck, although not sure the truck loves the trailer sometimes as we keep getting phantom Check Engine light when towing that disappears a few miles after we unhook. But GM says there isn't an issue, so ... cool I guess.  But to my question. I'm trying to find a tailgate assist accessory for it. I've read other links that say the Dee Zee 43101 works great on a '13 Avy, but Dee Zee replaced the DZ43101 last year with the DZ43102 and can't (or won't) tell me what changed. I tried going to eBay who seemed to have a DZ43101, but when I get into the order, it automatically changes the part number to 43301.  So, I'd sure appreciate it if anyone can suggest how to get a good tailgate assist for a '13 Avy ??  :help:  Brujay.
 
I believe it will work. Someone asked etrailer the same question, and they wouldn't commit but they did provide 2 reviews of other users who say it works great.

Also found this ebay review which states it works A must have for people with kids!,,,

Get it from somewhere that allows returns if there is still a concern.
 
I'll let you know for sure this weekend, I ordered the DZ43102 from Amazon for myself. For $22, why not! Could save my little ones a headache one day
 
It works well. I decided to spray paint the steel to match.

There is a little extra stress added to the upper end of the tailgate cable/strap now, with the tailgate closed it angles near the connector instead of hanging straight. I don't think it'll be an issue, but a decade from now it may wear out.

One of the better $22 I've spent, great piece of hardware!
 
And don't worry, she got a bath that night.. The Inlaws live on gravel and we've got 5 birthdays in February so we're out there often, that plus the salt on the roads...
