Are there any transferable tailgates for avalanches between years?I'd like an embossed one with CHEVEROLET stamped in it instead of the one I got that's just painted on and small. 2011 is year I got..in Black.

The AV tailgate is unique and can't be swapped easily with a Silverado pickup. It can be swapped with the Cadillac EXT taigate though. At one time members who wanted a large Chevy emblem either applied a decal or if 3d they went with chrome stick on letters.

Thanks for reply..but I was wondering if I could get another Avalanche tailgate with CHEVEROLET STAMPED IN IT. I now own a 2011 Avalanche with only a small painted one or decal. Are Avalanche tailgates interchangeable? From year to another year?

I believe all the 1st generation Av's have teh "embossed" as you call it tailgate. (2001/2->2006).. Some one else will have to tell you if they are compatible.

I doubt the body lines etc would line up.

Buy both.
Take yours to body shop. and them cut out raised letters you want and fiberglass into your tailgate and then paint.
DONE!

Seems easier to just apply letters to existing tailgate and not have to do any cutting or swaping etc.

Tailgates for the 2007 through 2013 Avalanches and Cadillac EXTs are all the same part. Tailgates from the 1st generation (2002-2006) technically won't fit and the striker and cable connection locations are different.
