Tent compatibility Gen 1 - Gen 2 and vice versa

Just got an old 04 1st Gen and have been able to find plenty of info outside of the tent compatibility!?!?!

I realize the body shape is essentially the same but I have been unable to confirm for certain a tent from a Gen 2 09 iirc tent would fit my 04?

Or is there slight difference that will prevent it from sealing correctly or straps not reaching or latching onto what ever it is they attach to ( fender and bumper ect )

I also noticed one of the 3rd party tent manufacturers only had 06+ options in their drop down menus for ordering a tent...which also added to the confusion


For the record its an OEM tent from i think an 09 ( for sure 2nd gen )

I did search on here and google and various after market tent manufacturers, amazon reviews....Unless I had a seizure this has been very hard to confirm for what ever reason

I would guess that there is enough slack in a tent that it could easily compensate for any small differences between Gen 1 and gen2 AVs.
I don't think you will see any differences at all with Gen 1 unless you are comparing Gen 2 Avs that had the optional painted cladding from a Cadillac ext which was also stock on a 2013 AV.
The bed dimensions, wheel base and many other dimensions are the same, things like cargo tie-downs in the bed changed slightly but still in same location.
