She will always be with us in our hearts. :C:
I was driving in a crap area of the Bronx and I found her lying there on the street. Although I am an EMT, I was not able to save her. The bastards that did this to her should "Fall in a puddle of AIDS and crack their skull" :8:

As an owner of a Red Z-71 I have to say that I would resort to extreme violence if I saw that in progress.......These photos really spook me.

Ouch! Do you know who it belonged to? I can't look at those pictures anymore it's to sad :-[

Wow, what son of a ----- would do such a crazy thing?
I am going to have nightmares tonight!!!!! :6:

When I lived in No. NJ I used to see cars like that whenever I drove through the Bronx (on the way to L.I.). I am surprised that the wheels and tires are still on the vehicle - that used to be one of the first things to be taken.

I hope the owner was well insured and is now driving a new one.

:3: :3: :3: :3: :3: RIP Red Av :3: :3: :3: :3: :3:

I can't even express how sad that is :C:. That poor AV. VERY, VERY sad that's all I can say.

People can be downright evil :8:.

Well it was an insurance job. It had to be. The tires and rims and spare were there. I saw the tools for the jack in the side compartment,(which I ended up taking) SHHHH. I honestly thought about taking the rims though, but I not a thief.

Having grown up on LI and spent a lot of time in "the city" I am surprised at that too. The look of it - I would almost guess an insurance job. :8:

Once again I'd like to point out the surprising durability of the cladding under the conditions of extreme heat. I've always been impressed when I've seen Car-B-Q pictures of Av's.

You should have salvaged the tailgate which looked like it was still in good shape. God knows what will happen to it when the police return to make good on that green "your days are numbered here" sticker. :9:

I actually was considering that as well. The top portion of the tailgate was melted but the piece could be changed. The rear bumper was untouched. The tow package was still good. The only thing that I didn't check was the engine. The latch was popped but the hood warpped, so I was unable to open it. I shoulda used a prybar.

It could have also been used in a crime where they needed the flexibility of a midgate.

I used to see these all the time up there.

I'd like to start my reply with a moment of silence . . .

As a fellow Victory Red, I'm crushed - one bit of good news, it wasn't YOURS! Phew!

I'm thinking it was the work of terrorists :8: . . . or the average punk that started out in his young days, keying cars.

The picture show is very sad - what a way to go

As to the utility of the AV and midgate I always thought it would make a perfect Mafia crew wagon. >:D

The friggin plasic wheel covers are gone. THE FRIGGIN PLASTIC WHEEL COVERS ARE GONE! Who would take those and leave the wheels? I mean seriously.

They left the Foglights and DRL's though.

David

Unbelievable..... So this is a reg site in L.I.???? I could have used that bug-guard.

That is the sadest thing I have ever seen    that is if that happend to me I would be MAD looking at those pictures it makes me want to :D: :9:

What if this is one of those cases where the AV had one of those problems that the dealer could not fix and would not want to buy it back either, would you resort to this.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I took those. :D

if nothing else they should have sold it to science...maybe science can help our av's become bigger faster stronger smarter and what the hell even more fuel efficient...

and in the last resort they could have sold the parts to us online...geez...don't let it go to waste...many other deserving people can't have av's and some people are out there wasting them...

note to self: use heated seats in moderation...hehe

heavyd: what kind of brush guard is that on your av?

It's still an insurance job. But I think I'd do the same if that were the case.

At least we know the heated seats work good >:D....heheh

Leather, you may be on to the cause here. ?Cold day, seat heater turned up on high and the driver may have eaten something that didn't agree with him and had gas.

Let's be careful out there folks.
