Was searching around for some add-ons for my AV. I decided to check out a vendor for exhaust that has a very good rep with vettes. Low and behold they have added an exhaust system for trucks and SUVs.

If you have a sound card give it a listen. Im considering making this my next upgrade.

Well I'm about to give up. Exhaust will be my first upgrade and now another system to consider. Everytime I think I've made up my mind something else comes along. The price on this is inline with others, but I'm still leaning towards just plugging in a Flowmaster and putting the savings into a FIPK. Any thoughts by others on my plan?

The looks are good if you have the pocket book for it. ?
But I did think about getting the tips, till I found http://www.magnaflow.com/03tipspg.htm

What if I told you you could get the same performance at half or less than half the price?
The sound files sound a bit funny, kind of like they've been sped up about 25%. ?Having a 5.3, actually owning two of them, I've never heard them wind up that fast. ?The sound files have some serious throttle response. ?
I've already sent powersurg some mpeg files of what I had done to mine, for less than $250. ?Throw me an instant with your email and I can hook you up.

The funny thing is that if your paying 6-7 bills for a Mandral bent exhaust system, your getting taken to the cleaners. Now if you want one Mandral bent because you want the clean look for showing your truck at events, well that's OK. But unless you running over 500 ponies under the hood a Mandral bent exhaust is a waste of time and a HUGE waste of money.

Had the Gibson Split rear installed in January. Pulled it out last week & put the Borla on. I guess the saying you get what you pay for lines up with this deal. Very happy with the Borla.

Hello tfreimiller, I like the way the cladding is painted. did you do it or the dealer?

Add www.BBexhaust.com to the list of catback systems. They are one of the few with systems for the Av 2500 in addition to the 1500.

Thanks for the input. My biggest thing is that I dont want what I call the farm truck sound (grew up in the midwest). I want something that I can hear myself think while cruising and when I want it to talk it has a deep throttle sound.

I looked at the Corsa because I know how thier vette exhaust sounds. As far as a flowmaster I tried one ont he Z71 Tahoe I had. It lasted a whole day before I made them take it off. I couldnt hear myself think just driving down the highway

Time must have stolen my acute hearing response, because I have had a Flowmaster 40 Series for just a week, and it is the sweetest sound I have ever heard from a small-block Chevy.

Steve:

Are you remembering big blocks again??? >:D ;D ;) (y) :B:

Does adding these systems to your AV void any of the Manufactures warrantee? ??? ???

It SHOULD not...only if the "modded" part can be shown to have caused the failure of the part you intend to get fixed under warranty. :B:

thanks, I going with the Gibson SS, can't wait to get it installed. ;D

tfreimiller: Check out my little Corsa Exhaust thread here in the performance section. I just installed mine last friday.

It does sound a little 'farm truckey'... At low rev's when chugging up a hill or something, it will sound similar to a serious exhaust leak in an old truck. The big catch is, with the at least the back windows up (even the back one out), it'll be pretty quiet inside. With all of the windows up, you'd never know about all of the racket coming out of the tailpipe(s) - it's very very quiet.

Chevylover: The exhaust note is very Very VERY! close to what the Av sounds like. :) From what I've been told, the Av system uses the 6.0L muffler... I'm honestly not sure what the differences are or what the story is...

Tapping the throttle in Park or Neutral produces almost instant throttle response... It's pretty surprising... I'll get some sound files up sometime this week.
