does anyone have this feature in their Av?

basically, its where the dome light stays on for a few seconds (like when the door is shut) and the dome light fades away...

i know the new denali's have them because i've been jealous of my dad's for a while now.

That's funny - I never even noticed whether it had it or not. My 1999 Grand Am has it, and it is nice. But I'm not sure I miss it in the Av yet.

and the purpose is ? or is this just a neat thingy with the lights fading away to dark?

I really miss it. Besides the obvious affects of the lights fading in, the Aztek has it's front overhead lamps mounted in the bottom of the rear view mirror. One for driver, and a seperate for passsenger. This is nice, because you don't ever get them glaring into your eyes since they are somewhat below you eye level. I find the interior lighting of my AV to cause me to squint (and do the ole' ahhh!) when it come on after driving for an hour or so at night. When I use the dome override, I find myself turning them on manually to find things... It's kinda ironic to me that Chevy put the dome override switch in in the first place. It seems that they realized that the interior lights may be too much and people would want an alternative. But only having on or off?!? Not such an elegant solution IMHO. Hopefully this mod will cure it for me...

hey kronk,

nice find!!! it looks like it'll work on most cars ;D . i'll definitely be looking into this product. i know a few other people that are interested in this feature and besides, the price looks great!!!

I plan to order one soon. Especially for the price. ;D I think it will be absolutely awsome at night with the under the mirror lights on the outside. It will be real dramatic in a dark parking lot!!

i just ran into this, and it appears this was discussed during the earlier days of CAFCNA. well since we've a lot more innovative members, can anyone fine a solution to this?

i would love to have this feature...

BTW, happy holidays everyone!!! (y)

The '03 comes with it standard. On the '03 all the lighting is controlled by the BCM for battery rundown protection. I think it must be a funciton of the BCM.
