Three-passenger Avalanche??

Hi, I was just wondering if somebody of you have find the third seat in front of AV??? Chevy write on her homepage:
" it can go from a six-passenger SUV with a 5.3-ft. cargo box to a three-passenger full-size pickup with an 8.1-ft. cargo box, thanks to the revolutionary Midgate."

..hhmmm, for me looks that thing in the middle like a console, should that be a seat?;)

Robin,
Welcome to CAFCNA! ;D The reason Chevy suggests that SOME of them can go to a 3 passenger pickup from a 6 passenger SUV is that the standard front seat is in fact a 3 passenger bench. While not every vehicle is equipped with those, they are available, so GM bangs the drum as loud as it can to emphasize all the advantages the Av has. It's part of the business hype that goes on all the time in all industries, so, like an honest lawyer, truth in advertising is sometimes shrouded in a "fog"......
Enjoy the site!

For what its worth, I have the 6 passenger Av and boy does it come in handy when hauling things in the back and I have the family along ;D

The only way to get the split bench up front is to stick with the standard seating (no sport cloth, no leather, no butt warmers), but for my family it is what we had to have.

I have not found very many with the bench seat :(

My AV is white and with the bench seat! We liked this way just in case we have some friends to accomodate.
We like it better that the captain bucket chair. I found that chair not that confortable. I can not use the arm rest (maybe because I have a few pounds extra) but I can use the extra sit on my AV to rest my arm.
We live in Southeast Texas so we use shorts very often so the sport cloth does not feel great on your legs when you wear shorts.

We loved our AV as it is. >:D

I have the bench seat also, I love it. Six of us jumped in the AV and went to a casino a while back. We weren't cramped at all. We had a great time going up there... laughing and cutting up the whole way there. ;D

......dead silence on the trip back.....

I have the bench seat also, it's nice to have the option of seating 6 people, and there's plenty of room for everyone. Guess that would be another benefit to not getting leather ;D

We got the bench seat specifically for hauling more than one passanger with the midgate down. So far we have used it a couple times to haul 6 large adults. works great - I am so glad we went with the bench seat.

Hey black_magic the only reason I can see for being quiet is if you would have lost the AV in a card game. lol After all if you still have the AV life can't be all that bad ;D

The bench seat ain't what you used to get in a 1960 Bel-Air. It's more like a couple of buckets with a small jump seat sandwiched in between. Every bit as comfortable as the buckets - but I do wish they offered leather and a power passengers seat on this option.

The other needed feature is a passenger air-bag disable to allow kids up front safely. I guess the 2003's have this.

Not in this world!!! I have the full bore leather with the articulating headrests and power lumbar etc. in the AV.
It's very comfortable.

My pickup, 2500HD, 8100, has the cloth bench. I took out the middle seat/arm rest and put heat in the "buckets" ok but not "every bit as comfortable"

Bench seat here too. The top reason for getting the bench was the versatility. The second reason was to save a little money :). We always felt that would be the best choice.

Bench here, Plain ole standard AV, but i love it. My last 2 had buckets and everytime i fell asleep my elbow would slip off the arm rest. for me It is to small for a long ride. Kept waking me up ???

I love my center console. But it is a pain if you have to drop the midgate. Going from 5 passenger to two passenger just does not fly.

Ah well....I guess their is tradeoffs for owning such a kickbutt truck!
