Throttle Blade Stuck Open... WTH?!?!

OK... First, I'm not sure if this is the right area or this issue has been previously posted.. so I apologize if it's a repeat. Secondly, I have a 2002 Z66 1500 that is giving me a little bit of an issue. I replaced the pigtail connector (Brown / Yellow wire) that goes into the throttle motor 2 days ago. When I started the truck, it immediately threw P0171, P0174, P1515 codes. Cleared the codes, restarted the truck and the same codes appeared.
Now, I did a bonehead move by clearing the codes while the truck is running and all hell broke loose (I'll accept the name callings because I deserve it LOL). It threw a P0106, P1120, P1221, P1220, P1515, P1518, P1516, and P1514 and ran rough (sounding like puffs) before I immediately shut it off. I then removed the negative wire, turned on the light, and let it sit for 20 minutes. After that time, I cleared the codes and started the truck. That same puff sound was there as well as the reduced engine power light appearing. This time, I only have codes P1120 (x2), P1120 (x2), and P1516 (x2) appeared. So I shut the truck off and when I got to the engine, I noticed the blade on the throttle body stuck open... as if it's jammed. I tried moving the blade with my hand to no avail and now with everything shut off and unplugged, it's still open. What did I do to have caused this and how do I fix it? I'm already prepared to see it's time to get a new throttle body and/or TAC Module. HELP!!!!! Thanks!

I would've posted a photo, but unable to do so.

I posted a while back, that I cleaned my throttle body because it was throwing a p0121 code. After that, I had to take it to the dealer to get a relearn done to it.

Ok got that, but why would the throttle blade stick open as if it was jammed? I could not move it by hand to close it and when turning on the ignition, it never moved as well. How trustworthy are those relearn procedures on youtube (because that's what I did)? Thanks for the reply!

sounds like it might be time for a new OR upgrade throttle body or Throttle Position Sensor

I was thinking the same thing too. I've changed the pedal sensor last year along with the MAP, MAF, and TPS. Now that you mentioned an upgrade. How do I upgrade from the one I have (throttle shaft motor on the left side and TPS on the right side) a newer one? I would assume, I would need to new harness as well as the TAC, APP, and more the likely reflash the PCM. I'm the second owner (even though I've had it since 2007) and as far as I can tell, everything on it is original.

should just be able to buy a bigger TB. Stock is 78mm so get the 80mm. Never heard folks having to change the harness

Yes I have the 78mm. Thanks for that! I’ll check out the 80mm. They should be easier to find than the 78.

summit racing has a couple I think and you might check out the BBK 1756 (I think)

looks like I need to remove the control motor from the old one TB and place on this one. Is my assumption correct?

not 100% sure. thought it was a complete unit

The funny thing is I was just reading that not less than a few minutes ago. found it on a google search. The answer I was looking for was in response to why the blade would jam stuck so I disregarded it. However, in terms of upgrading, that makes sense. My question to that would be to port or not to port or is that an owner preference?

Found these on the BBK website.

looks like you have to relocate the TP form the stock TB to the new one. If that's the case, then you might just start with getting a new TSP sensor because you do not know the cause. Would hate for you to buy a bigger TB and it not fix the issue.

Right.. and makes sense.

good luck with this. hope its a simple fix and you can get the AV back on the road ;)
