Hello gentlemen! New guy from Oklahoma.
I just got a 04 chevy avalanche with 380k on the dash.
im not in the truck deep at all but it is currently my daily.

This truck makes no noises going down the road - iv done several wot pulls and part throttle pull - no ticking - rattling or pinging - sounds like new - other then a slight tapping that comes and goes at idle..... Again it comes and goes - sometimes slightly reving it makes is disappear.... To me it sounds like a lifter - however it sounds down lower to me but could be the way the engine sets in the truck..... This morning when I first fired it up - it wasn't there ( or noticeable )...... I let the truck warm up for 10 mins ( wasn't there ) when I left for work..... Drove 10 mins on highway. Got to work - when I parked it wasn't there but a few mins of idling and it slowly came back ( lil more noticable )....... Other then this - no smoke and no other noises.... Noise is also there in gear - cant hear it from inside cab - unless in a drive thru or such - when in the drive thru ( if you rev or slightly stall against the converter ) the noise goes away....

Thoughts? Uploading video now!

check for exhaust leak near manifold - broken bolts.
Or maybe piston slap.

I agree with ygmn. I would first check for exhaust leaks around the manifold and the flange near the Cat.
(To check get a shopvac and attach the hose to the air out side of the shop vac. Attach the hose of the shopvac to the exhaust pipe and turn on. Air will now be blowing into the exhaust. Grab some soapy water and spray around and look for bubbles.)
Mine was doing the same thing when the engine was cold and would go away after engine was warmed up.
Also have you changed your oil yet? As preventive maintenance on my truck I will add a 1/4 bottle of seafoam 100miles before doing an old change. And I also change it while the engine is warm. Then I will replace 1 qt of old with Lucas. Seafoam helps by cleaning the small oil valves that might be cause engine ticks.
Sorry for the long post. But keep us posted.

What is your oil pressure?

That sounds like the lifter tick I had on my EXT's engine.

Lifter ticking. as EXT4me said - what is the oil pressure at idle in drive? Sounds absolutely horrible when you revved it near the end of the video - much more wrong. I am guessing probably very worn bearings causing low oil pressure, resulting in the lifter tick at warm idle or the lifter roller has fallen completely out. Please take and have it diagnosed before you send a rod through the side of the block.
