Finally getting into replacing my oil pump, which is leading me to do a few other preventative things since I'm in there and don't really want to again if I can avoid it. I'll be detailing all I did in a future thread, parts list and all. I've got a few pics posted in my album for any who want to check them out as well.

Thought I'd start a thread for questions I have along the way so the answers were contained in one thread and easier for others to find.

1. When replacing the front cam seal, do those little bolts need torqued, and if so to what?
EDIT: Sorry, Camshaft Retainer/Cover Plate. And it's 18 ft-lbs (Calling it by the correct name makes a difference when using Google...)

2. I got a Melling Timing Chain that has keyways for 0, +/- 2, 4, 6, 8 respectively. Any thoughts on what I should do? Leave at 0 so it's stock or what?

Is the original Gasket supposed to be flat like this?
