Was curious how many of us TNF Edition owners are club members? How many have been built by Chevy to date? Anyone done anything special or different to theirs? Any TNF's in the Nashville area? Anyone talk to the North Face yet to trick one out to the max using all their stuff? Kind of a club within a club, huh?

TNF stands for Tumor Necrosis Factor ... hmm ... that doesn't make sense here.

Maybe he's talking about The North Face edition ?;D

Thanks for picking me up on that one goo929.

Working in the outdoor biz I made a bad assumption that people knew North Face as TNF. Thanks again.

:B:

During a pole on interiors a while back 6 people listed the North Face interior. I have to believe that there are more of us than that, though.

Steel,

I have found 7 sigs in our forums of North Face Editions owners besides mine. Would love to know how many they ended up building for 2002. I think I may pick up extra head rests since they are changing our colors and I may try for headrest monitors (knowing me I may need an extra).

My TNF Edition is white which I think works well with the cladding but if I could have found the North Face green like yours. Jealous of your location. I only have the Smokeys and they are 3 hours away. While you have Olympic and all those roads the AV loves to chew up and spit out.

I would be interested in your thoughts on mods. I am going with a hi-tech look for mine. Lots of stainless to go with the white. Would like to whiten the dash along with the instruments. Then maybe go with a stainless or graphite interior. Thought maybe you had seen one like this and could give me input.. Also going with Billet Bowtie in front and gunmetal grill and stainless nerfs. Although I did think of trying to take the silver band across the front to white like they do with Z-71 Tahoe and Suburbans.

Not much on mods here. We are a small % of this club. I think stainless would look great on your truck. Post some pics after you install & good luck. AJ

Snowlep, your ideas sound pretty interesting. I would be afraid to tackle changing the finish's on those parts not knowing how they would turn out. I think I would start looking for some clean parts from a wrecking yard and massage them in the workshop until I was happy with the results. Then I could swap them back and forth with the originals when I fealt like changing the looks of my truck. I had entertained thoughts of changing the looks of the chrome bar on the grill to a brushed stainless look and changing the grill out with some kind of custom metal screen in a gunmetal or titanium finish. I would keep the original parts around so I could readily go back to stock to retain resale value and "saleability". When I first bought my TNF I had an idea of not having any brightwork at all on it. I still consider that from time to time.

:0:Maybe we can pursuade Goo to ask his contact "Deep Bowtie" for all the build numbers of TNF Editions broken down by color. How about it Goo? Are you up to the task? ;D

Yea Goo...How about it?....Since two of us have thrown down the gauntlet, it is now officially a challenge. We North Face Owners want to know about our package. Numbers colors, etc....no pressure, this week will do fine!

Steel...good advice. I feel like you .... not sure how or what would look best. Where are those virtual graphics programs for us to see. Has there been a category in the Mods Forum strictly on dash mods? If not I would like to see what other have done? I have seen a few wood grains on owners websites. My biz owns the AV and had to pay cash to get the deal I got...so for now I will keep it original in case I do have to sell it (God forbid)!!!!!!!!! But palying in the workshop with ideas sounds prudent. I can def see yours with no bright work and my white one totally bright. That is the fun of the AV. thanks forthe help. We will see what Goo can do. I will be interested to see how the new North Face Edition turns out.

I have talked to Steel about this already. It is on my "to find" list. I have not seen the information grouped by color/TNF/Non-TNF on their site.

You need to work on your method of persuasion. Steel can get away with more since he is a "Deity" and Moderator. You have just lost yourself 50 posts! Oops! You don't have 50 posts ;D

Being a North Face owner I would like to know this info too. I met one other North Face one day on the road, but other than that they seem scarce in Maine.
By the way if you ever go into a North Face store grab a catalog. The inside back page has the North Face edition in it. Just in case anyone collects those things.

Goo929 - you are right...my apologies...reverted to Newbie days by trying to follow a "diety and moderator". I will work on building my posts and being more humble.

Well, better late than never. I finally got an answer from Chevrolet concerning the number of 2002 Avs were sold by color and edition. After all this time, this is what I got;

"Dear Mr.

Thank you for contacting Chevrolet with your interest in the 2002 Avalanche! The Avalanche is a fabulous vehicle. Only the Avalanche has the Midgate, which allows one person without tools to transform the Avalanche from a six-passenger SUV to a pickup with an eight-foot box in seconds. No assistance is necessary and every component stores onboard. With the Avalanche, the best features of an SUV and a full-size pickup truck are yours. The Avalanche comes standard with a driver message center, which monitors 17 different systems including low fuel, transmission and oil pressure.

At this time there is no way for us to know the breakdown of 2002 Avalanche's sold by color, or by trim levels such as the North Face edition. I apologize for any inconvenience. For further assistance please see your local dealer."

Hmmm... It took Cadillac less than twelve hours to get back to me with the type of car they had parked in the EXT bed in their television commercial. Go figure?
