First let me start off by saying I have read a lot of threads on underbody lighting and I still don't know any more now than I did before. I am thinking of an underbody kit if I can make it to MCM. The only time that I would use them would be at GTGs. That being said, I have only been to 3 GTGs so far. Now, what to get- led or neon, single color, 7 color or 2.1 million color, which brings me to manufacturer? I know of Plasmaglow and Streetglow and a few others that have been mentioned.which is easier to install? Do the LEDs use a transformer like neons. Do neons use more power than leds? I want to keep the install simple and discreet. Hidden switches ect...  I do not want to spend allot of money on under body lights either. I think dark blue or blacklight would look good under a black AV but I have not seen many with lights yet. any suggestions would be appreciated. Would there be any better deals offered by Streetglow at MCM?

Lots of choices out there, But I would start small, see how you like it and then expand if needed, I have 4 smaller lights (German Cars) and love the effect they put out, I might add 2 more under but think I am very happy with 4. As for your switches, I just tapped into the door lights for power, Come on and go off with them so you don't have to worry about the switch.

Go with Streetglow, and with Neon..  Why Neon is controlled much easier and can be with a remote control purchased just about anywere..  If you are going to purchase I would go with newlevelmotorsports.com as they have the best prices on the net, and offer a discount for avalanche owners.  Use avalanche in the coupon section and you will save 10% off...

Does neon use more power than the leds?? How big is the transformer?? I want to keep things looking stock as possible on the inside and under the hood.
Blueline or Gold Series
Thanks!

Blueline has no transfomers as they are build in, but they are not as bright as the gold series..  Transformer for the Gold series is about the size of a pack of smokes..
As far as pwoer usage neons may use a little more, but not much..

where is the most common place to mount the transformer?
I think most on the firewall near where the 2nd battery goes..

And no it wont interfer with having a 2nd battery in needed down the road

not sure about the most common place, but mine is located on the passenger side next to where the second battery would be against the firewall.

Do any of the Streetglow underbody kits come with a remote?  Are there any comparison pictures out there for neon vs. leds?

I believe you can buy a remote that works with the switch.  I saw them at PepBoys.

Some pics of my neon on the night of the install  (y)

To my knowledge no Streetglow come with a remote..
Looking at Ros I would say Gold cause of the brightness..
The major difference in the install is the gold uses 1 transformer, while the blueline has them built intot he tube itself.  The Gold Series are linked together into a loop, while the Blue are hooked to a voltage source independently..
BUt the remotes can be purchased just abotu anywhere for about $30 tops..

From what I have read of the directions, it looks like the Gold series is a little easier to install with less wires to run.  Is the switch for these just on and off or do they also dim?

Actually I think the blue are easier as you dont need to connect them together, they have a straight shot to the power junction..
Yes just on and off, why would you want to dim them??

  Just curious about the dimming.

I guess either you could wire in a dimmer switch..  Hadnt ever thought about it..  You would just control the voltage going in
