Ok so I got my new Ranchos RS9000X's yesterday and of course I cant do anything to the AV without reading a million threads here first .......... man this place is awesome. Anyway I have an 04 z71 1500 and it has been riding like crap lately both passenger side shocks appear to be blown (hence the new ones) I will be installing new later today when I'm off work, but after reading here I found that maybe a tweak of the torsion bars may help as well. This is the first IFS truck I have had........ :help: ........ ummmmmmm whats a torsion bar how does it work? Tighter does what? looser does what? How do I adjust? Dangers? I do alot of off roading, hard driving, etc. Any inof you got would be great........ thanks

can I inquire as to where you got them and how much you paid for them?

I'm considering getting a set before I go on vacation in July ....

I got some good news and some bad news

Good news is that Rancho has upgraded the RS9000X to the new and supposedly improved RS9000XL

Bad news is
You missed the sell off of the old ones (ended Apr 30) I got mine right at the end from

http://www.samsrancho.com/checkout.html

a set of 4 for $223.00 (buy 3 get 1 free) but the RS9000X (the old ones) are discontinued and impossible to get now  :E:........ sorry, but I talked to RAncho about the new ones and they sound sweet the link above still has one of the better prices I have seen....... good luck

I just installed the Monroe Reflex front and rear (73,000 miles) on my Z71. ?The Bilsteins were not blown, but ride quality was way down. ?The ride is great again!

As to the torsion bars - there is a lot of info here. ?Quick points - most look to use the adjustment to level front and rear. ?Adjustment may require a front end alignment. ?As to ride quality with torsion adjustment, small increase will not make much difference.

thanks for the info ... oh well! ... I'm always a day late and a dollor short .... but $350 is still not bad for a good set of shocks .....
