What am i doing in LA?
Let me introduce myself & my story.... My Names Amanda and i'm 18 I just moved down to Louisiana from Jersey to go to school at LSU....Now heres my story...

In late 2002 my parents purchased me a brand new Chevy Avalanche....

I was exteremly happy I've wanted one since the first time i saw it....

::fast foward to July 18th 2003::: As I was sitting in beach traffic I noticed an Attractive man behind me traffic started speeding up and I was not paying attention I plowed into the truck infront of me who was stopped at this point going around 50 mph...the result...

::Fast foward to now::....In Sept '03 I got a 2003 S-10, this is what it looks like now as of 08/01/04

It has a 2/3, 18's, clear corners, Sick system ( Zapco, Image Dynamics, Fulcow Eutopia's, Eclipse)...but anyways

My Avalanche will always have a special place in my heart..... And I still love them so I joined so I could still be apart of the great world that is the Avalanche...
 
Welcome to the site! Sorry for your loss of the AV. I hope you were not hurt in the accident!
Good luck with school and your new truck. I know others will ask, why not get new AV? But I'm sure cost is a factor with school etc.
 
Yea cost wasa big issue, It would have been different if i could work while down at LSU but I am not alloweed to NCAA Rule..( I'm a scholarship athlete) From June 5th- Auguest 16th ( only time i can work )so my parents still have to support me...Thank you...

I was also wondering if theres any members from the Baton Rouge area and wouldnt mind a little s-10 showing up for meets :)
 
Eww that stinks. Hopefully no one was seriously hurt in the accident. What did you hit to do that kind of damage? A Semi?

You might try a message under your regional board here and it will be seen by someone in your region. I am willing to bet they would not mind your nice truck showing up at a GTG (It's still a Chevy). This site has lots of info that will help you make Mods to your truck and you can see the good and bad side of each before you spend your hard earned money on something that might not work.

3) used to own an AV :C:

4) bought something else and hate yourself for loosing your mind :E:

5) lost your mind and bought something esle and need a support group to help you change your evil ways. (y)

6) the list goes on and on............
 
BTW, welcome to the club! If your on an athletic scholorship..... work hard and become a pro. Then you can make us all envious of all the mod money you have to mod that new Cadillac EXT you will have when you start making the big bucks. ;D

I would love to make the big bucks but in order to do so i'd have to move to Europe...
America= Not so Big Track & Field Country

So i'll settle being a high school gym teacher & coach and have my husband make the big bucks :)

Yeah Me TOO they would only have to pay off the $18,000 dollars I still owe on my 2002 with 93,000 miles :eek: :rolleyes:

Sorry to see you lost your AV they are a great vehicle I hope to buy a new one soon (y)

Amanda, I'm sorry that happened to you - it's a tough lesson for sure but you were in an Av and who knows but maybe it saved you from an injury. I came really close to slamming into the back of a guy who was focused on the same babe I was. Only I was lucky... That was a long while back, but I remember it well.

S-10! You have the last year they were made, I still have my `82; the 1st year of the model... 133K and still runs and drives ok. It just doesn't look as good as your's!.. >:D

... I'm confused... She's good looking... had an avalanche... is a scholarship athlete... AND LIKES HOOTERS???? HOLY CRAP. they just didn't have girls like that where I went to school. Anyways. It always seem that it's the guys that are crashing their trucks cause they are checking out someone on the beach. that musta sucked. But I would look at it this way, If you would have had a honda and hit that truck at 50, there would have been A LOT more damage than what was done. welcome to the boards.

Ya' know, I wasn't going to say anything but since you brought it up.......no sh!t!!! Let's see, a cute athletic girl that likes trucks and Hooters?

If her dad owns a liquor store or a bait shop then I'd say she's just about the perfect woman!!! ;)
 
Well Amanda with a good attitude like that you should check out the SOM Nation thread. It's dedicated to the color AV you had and I bet you would like YAKMAR, APPYTUDE and the rest of the gang there.
If you are ever in Virginia Beach Va area we have Hooters here too! (For the wings!)
