VH 1 featured a totally tricked out Av, owned by actress Erica Christensen, on todays program.

The LPM Av, was tricked out in only three days by 310 Motoring, a custom car design shop.

The Av's new mods included painted cladding, a total sound remake with DVD and a Nav system as well as XBOX and ten inchers under the seats. And a new suede headliner added a touch of class.

The whole package was riding on new 24" wheels and looked great...............

I saw parts of that. Did I understand them to say the total for those mods were less than $3,000?
What a bargain if that was the case!

I wonder how on earth we could alert some of these famous Avalanche owners about our national meet. Wouldn't it be cool if one of them showed up! ;D

Earthquake it was a $30,000 budget.

Here is direct quote from VH1.com

"ERIKA CHRISTENSEN - (Traffic, Swimfan & The Perfect Score) Erika acts as our celebrity designer when we put 310 Motoring to the test to trick out a Chevy Avalanche in just 3 days with a budget of $30,000! Some of the "tricking out" she did includes adding an XM Radio, a DVD Player, an X-Box, Suede headliner, and a GPS system."

I have a better idea for $30,000.00.

Instead of tricking out my indigo blue AV, I'd buy a second one. Arrival Red please, chop chop.

It's nice to see somebody around here thinks like I do. (y)

Spectron 65 AV pair: red-on-blue AV and blue-on-red AV.

I'm in heaven. On second thought, for 30,000 bucks, I think Erika and VH1 were ripped off. 15K maybe, but for 30K?

That thing better have a hot tub and a gatling gun.
And a Margarita/Starwberry daquiri maker....

Cladding $ 6000
Rims $5500
Audio $10,000 (my way)
Rushing It: $3000
Xbox $200
Billet Grille ????

Tjpse were sp,e sweet 24's . . . . . boy she looked so small driving it.

I'd get a New Arrival Blue or Indigo Blue one and put white strobes on it. That would be sweet . . . . but unless I win the lotto it ain't happening

"Hollywood Tagfest" ~ are those in Cali' up to it? Probably should be more than just the standard brochure, might want to include info on the National Meet. They could see this as possible media exposure for themselves. Heck, if it gets 'em there why not?

that still leaves $10,000 ?but for what? . . .I don't know how much it cost for the suede headliner but I don't think it cost $10,000

The extra goes for just being a star in CA.

I saw this again this evening and DID notice that that $3k was for only headliner. Those other prices she was paying...she was getting ripped. But it makes me wonder where she got some of those ideas? Maybe she's watching us? Nah. If she had been, she'd never have paid so much for all that, but she may just not care about $$$$. She could'a just bought an EXT.

I also saw a $3000 upcharge for it being a 3 day rush job. Let's see . . . suede headliner, new shoes, billet grill, gps, Xbox, custom monogrammed floor mats. DVD, monitors in headrests, TV receiver, primo sound system with/2 10" subs under rear seats, painted cladding. I still think she got soaked for $30k.

Also charged $2k for a GPS system, $2.5K for labor.

Personally, I think the $ figure is purely a marketing ploy, because Erika was only designing the truck ( it was not her's) to be auctioned off for Save the Music.

However, it was one sweet Z66 when they got through with it.

They charged $800 for the billet grille (that one caught my eye 'cause I'm sure glad I paid less than half that for the same one)

The AV was only a segment of it, but the rest of the show was cool to watch. ?I would have done so much more with $30k on that truck!

Did anybody catch the comment about Lil' Kim's Mercedes Cabriolet "I have the only white one in the country" thingy? ?She has monitors in the rear (rear) headrests so people in traffic can watch her videos? ?Hello?

If anybody missed it, it will be on again Monday January 27th - 0200 pm (1400 hrs in MsAvalanche speak) - don't know if it is eastern time?

BTW..... Totally tricked out was their description, not mine.

Like many of you I could have done a lot more with $30,000. Buying an Ext is not one of the options that I would consider.

I just want a nav system like AvalancheRookie.........

ME Too!!!!!!!!!!!!!I don't know how I am going to get one but I am going to figure it out. The NAV thing is the next thing........

Does anyone know how to go about finding a price for a suede headliner. That thing looked awesome and while I agree with you guys about the amount of money, that company is also notorious for dealing with pretty much only celebs who have the cash to float around with out worries. Thats the same place Ja Rule (the rapper) had an escalade decked out a couple years back with seats that had his signature in the headrests with matching maroon leather seats (Not to mention all the other extra's). Anyway...

How about that suede headliner... where to get it? For us non-celebs?

There are a few places in the NY area that do custom headliners of al kinds of material. Find a hi end leather shop in your area that does seats and I am sure that they will be able to hook you up with a suede headliner.

Cool, thanks for the advise BlackAV... If only it were that simple. Things work a little different here in georgia, especially in my part of the world. I'd have to go a few hours to get to anywhere like that. But then again, what else is new..... ah, the country life is great... unless you want a suede headliner.... DANGIT! :)

thanks again

there's a shop in Hawthorne NJ that does seats and sunroofs and headliners. They just did my friends H2.
In yellow and black. It looks great. (y) I will get some pics soon. I just got done doing the audio/video
system in it. (about $15.000) This truck will be going down with me to Spring break nats in fla in March.
Come on down!! Glenn
