What is required to tow the Avalanche Z66 behind a Recreational Vehicle?

Either 4 wheel drive a axle disconnect, or a transmission pump that runs while towing so you don't burn up the automatic transmission, or a trailer to haul it on. ?One other thing is using a RV (motorhome) if it isn't a bigger diesel pusher you may as well forget it, as none of the gas motorhomes are rated to pull the 5600+ lbs. a AV weighs. Also if you do get something big enough to pull the AV you had better invest in some kind of braking system for the AV while being pulled like the Brake Buddy.

Detailed information on this starts on 4-46 in the owners manual. You can view it on this site in Pdf format. click here for towing your Av!

During the 4th of July week I took my family to Yellowstone Park. The AV was great, very comfortable. On the way back I saw a Bus conversion Motorhome ($300,000+) towing an AV. I thought "that is the life". So it can be done.

My wife and I were in Atlanta in April and saw one. It was the bus pulling a new pewter Av, which had a new pewter Gold Wing in the bed. Pretty fancy bike trailer, if you ask me!

I spotted a pewter Av being "flat towed" by an RV going up Lookout Pass between Montana and Idaho several days ago. I didn't notice what type of RV it was but I do remember he was making good speed up a big hill!
