Has anyone used a hensly? I have been studying up on them, they are an impressive piece of equipment. A friend of mine has one and there is no doubt it is the avalanche of hitches but very expensive. They cost about 4500greenbacks up here in Canada, thats about
3000 us dollars.
Would love to here of some other 1st hand experiences.

Hensley and Pullright are reportedly the best and cost the most. With the proper tow vehicle sized to the proper length and weight trailer I'm not sure they are worth the extra cost. If your tow vehicle is pushing the max, then it might be necessary. If you believe in the 75% rule of towing, then go with an "Equalizer" brand for well under $1000 (U.S). :0:They are excellent and have built in sway control which means one less piece of equipment to worry about and you can back up without having to detach the sway control. :)

Yes it is an expensive hitch, but worth the money, i have a more than adequate tow vehicle for my 31 foot trailer and i still do appreciate having this hitch. Once you try it you will not be sorry.

I also recommend getting the Prodigy brake controller,

I also highly recommend the Prodigy, kinda pricey but very smooth.

I have pulled it all at one time or another. From pickup campers to fifth wheels, pop-ups to travel trailers. I now pull a travel trailer and I use a Hensley. Went back to a trailer after my fifth wheel and was concerned about comparable stability between the two. There is almost no difference between the two when you use the hensley. I highly recommend it. I also agree with the others...the Prodigy brake controller is the best I have ever used. If you plan on keeping your trailer for some time, then the price isn't so bad. The AV is perfect for camping, it will do it all. :B:

could I ask you what is the drop on your Hensley hitch bar. Also would you know the height of your hitch on your trailer. I ordered a hensley and the guy wasn't sure what bar I needed. I have a 2003 Z71 18.75" from the top of the trailer hitch to the ground. thanks

I have the 2500 4X4 and use the straight bar, no drop at all. The trailer pulls perfectly level. Sorry I don't know the ball height of my trailer.
