I would really like to put a 3" lift on but am concerned with towing my 21' camper. The weight isn't the issue I am more concerned with ride and stability.

Does anyone have a lift and still tow?

Any and all comments welcomed.

Guessing that you are meaning a body lift.... so long as you use a frame mounted hitch... nothing will change with regards to towing...as nothing below the frame is touched

I am wondering this too... I am planning a six inch Superlift with 35's on my 1500 4x4. I know power will go a little with the 35's but, i wonder how she will drive towing a 7,000lbs boat or camper...

Gears. Get some good gears...with 35's and frequent towing, definitly do the 4.56 gears.

And do what Grey said...Frame based hitch. Should be as if you were towing like stock as far as the weight/handling to the vehicle.

Mud!

Damn, I would like to avoid doing the ring/pinion gears since I would have to do the front and rear having a 4x4 but, I could use it as an excuse to add airlockers while I am there as well! >:D

ahahahaah I like you GoBot... can't wait to meet in person, we are gonna get along just fine! LoL (y)

Thanks for the input. You are correct I meant body lift and I already knew about the frame mounted hitch.
I am interested in how the AV will ride with 3" of lift while towing a camper trailer. I can't imagine that it would change that much but was just looking for some others to put in their .02

Thanks again all.

I tow a 4K lb boat with mine and have no problems with the ride, it tows well (2500) and with 10plus inches of lift I have no problems even on the highway

With doing a body lift.. towing with it will be 100% unchanged... as you are not touching ths suspension or driveline... just seppereating the body off the frame by 3"....

I don't have any probs towing my boat at all with the lift(21' Supra approx 4K lbs.) I'm just glad the boat has a tower on it or I wouldn't know it was there at all. I have the stock 3.73 gears too, no programmer, no FIPK, etc...nothing but the lift.

:B:I plan on installing a 9.5 inch full throttle lift in a few weeks and I pull a trailer every day Ill let you know how it turns out

I had thought this thread had died after my last post. Thanks again for the responses. It sounds like I have some solid evidence to present to the wife so this can happen.

fullarmorpres please do post some picks and feed back when your done.

I haven't had any problems towing after my lift install.
I did have to get a hitch with more of a drop to make the trailer sit level, but if you do the body lift you should be fine.
