Towing with the base model

My wife and I were looking at a Z66 originally. It has the load leveling suspension and comes standard with the locking diff. Well tonight we drove a base model that had the locking diff and now we're considering it instead. Besides the fact it's much less than the last Z66 we looked at.

I'd just like to hear form some of you with the base model that have towed 4500+ lbs to get some idea of how the base handles it.

Interesting. Not where I posted this question. I think I would have got more response if it had been left alone. :E:

There is no difference in towing capacity between a base and a Z66.....

the only difference would be load leveling...and with tongue wieght slimited to 500 pounds there is not much leveling going on ...for me at least with my Z66....

So I guestimate that towing would not be any different....

also this is the section for new buyers to post questions....

THANKS

I'm not a big poster, as you can tell from my post count. I have a base avalanche '03 and tow a travel trailor and have had no problems whatsoever. Tows like a dream. I traded in a full size Dodge conversion van for the avy. I had towed with the Dodge and thought it was ok, until I towed with the avy. Man, it was night and day!!
Hope this helps. ;D

That's more of the response I was looking for. People with the actual model that have actually done it. Any idea what your travel trailor weights?

Okay. Hopefully someone with a heavier load will chime in as well. We'll be getting a rollback trailer to tow my Vette on so I want to BE SURE everything will be okay.
