I'm about to order 22 inch wheels for my 04' avalanche.

I searched and couldn't find a straight answer. ?Do all 04' avalanches have TPMS sensors ?
How can I tell if I have them ? I don't have the DIC option if that makes a difference.

04 does not have TPMS at all.

This is not true. 04s do in fact have TPMS, one way to tell is by looking at your valve stems, if they are metal and not rubber thats one way to tell. Im pretty sure when you first start the car when the cluster does a lamp check you may be able to see the TPMS bulb light up. Or you could attempt to put the PDM in learn mode the manual way, and if it goes into learn mode you know you have TPMS. If you need the TPMS learn mode i can post it up.

I have rubber stems so I don't think I have TPMS.
I also tried to put it into learn mode ( Igntion ON , Parking brake on , Cycle through odometer options ) and the option for tire reset never came up. So I guess I can assume that TPMS is not installed.

Well the rubber valve stems likely means you dont have it but the learn mode procedure actually involves the headlamp switch and wont be found in the options on your cluster.

Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
Apply the parking brake.
Turn the exterior lamp switch from OFF to parking lamps 4 times within 4 seconds. A double horn chirp will sound and the low tire pressure indicator will begin to flash indicating the TPM learn mode has been enabled.

I'd love to see the evidence of this for 2004.  It's not on the spec sheets, it's not in the owner's manual, and I've never seen an RPO for it.

Tire Pressure Monitor System

The Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) system uses radio and sensor technology to check tire pressure levels. If your vehicle has this feature, sensors are mounted on each tire and wheel assembly, except the spare tire. The TPM sensors transmit tire pressure readings to a receiver located in the vehicle.

When a low tire pressure condition is detected, the TPM system will display the CHECK TIRE PRESSURE warning message on the Driver Information Center (DIC); and at the same time illuminate the low tire pressure warning symbol. For additional information and details about the DIC operation and displays see DIC Operation and Displays and DIC Warnings and Messages .

This is from the online owners manual direct from SI. Theres plenty of other documents as well. Im sure someone on this forum with an 04 has a TPMS and can chime in. I think in 04 the TPMS doesnt have the ability to display each wheels individual pressure on the dic, theres just a warning lamp and a message.

Wonder why RPO UJ6 shows up in the 2004 RPO list and does not appear in the 2005 one?

I just checked and UJ6 was in the rpo list for 2005.

Seems like we have some conflicting information here.....

Yes, a quick Googling of UJ6 Avalanche turned up these threads from 04-05 which make things more interesting.

Now i'm having second thoughts about ordering rims.
My valve stems are rubber but I want to be sure that I don't have TPMS.
I tried the Learn Mode but it could be me not doing it right also.

What would be the easiest way to confirm ?

Look at the SPID label in the glovebox and check for the UJ6 code.

My avalanche is dark blue metallic. I have always wanted black rims so i'm hoping these don't clash to bad with the dark blue.

Guess i'll find out in about a week what they look like on the truck.

My '04 Z66 has them, but doesn't have the UJ6 code. I replaced the rims, and now I have to look at the message in the message center every day.
