Trailer hitch annoys sensors

Is there a fix for the parking sensors reacting to the trailer hitch?
I dont whant to takeout the hitch all the time. And I do love the sensors when I back up.

I have not seen anyone with a permanent fix for the sensors picking up some hitch in the receiver. I did have an issue with a hitch step tube bar I transferred over from my 2004 to my 2008 AV, it was very wide and my 2004 didn't have sensors so didn't think about it when transferred to 2008. I ended up buying a narrower hitch step from I think Bully in order to have some rear step/ protection and not interfering with the sensors.
Maybe you could try just flipping over your hitch in the receiver so it is handy and offer some protection then reverse when you need it to function as a hitch? Otherwise maybe store hitch in side storage bin until needed?

Thanks Vaeagleav for the reply.
I already store mine in the side storage bin. But since the hitch is bolted with a screw and nut its quite a lot of work every time. Is there an easyer way to tighten the hitch in the receiver? And does yours wiggle also in the receiver?

I just use a standard hitch pin/lock combo when my hitch is installed.

I don't think I have ever heard a hitch rattle.

Wiggle some, yes.

No big deal.

I keep my hitches in storage bags in the side compartments when not in use.

I've never had an issue with the back up sensors acting up, with my hitch installed or not.

I tow mostly my 25' Party Barge and my utility trailer to haul my lawn tractors.

The 2003 Avalanche does not have back up sensors, but the EXT does.

The hitch itself has just a slight rattle to me under big bumps or braking etc. otherwise I tighten it and my hitch step with a key locking hitch pin that screws itself on and seems to tighten things up. I don't hear much noise from my tube step when it's on either. In the old days I remember guys putting thin rubber bands like ones made by cutting up a bicycle inner tube and attaching between hitch and receiver to quiet things some.
