Tranny Slips To 3rd When Shifting From Park

The shifter has a tendancy to go into 3rd rather than drive. There appears to be a "gap" of sorts between drive and 3rd. Anyone else have this problem? If it has been discussed Please point me in the right direction Thanks! :B:
