Has anyone ever had to change the transmission in an 02 Avalanche and have problems getting the new one to shift properly. I recently had to put a new transmission in my 02 Avalanche and instead of one used transmission i ended up trying 3 different ones because each one wouldn't shift past 2nd gear so I thought they were defective or worn. Not knowing any better I thought that as long as the tranny was a 4L60E and bolted up it would work. I was wrong and after researching it I found out the 02 Avalanche is 02 only when it comes to the transmission. Actually 05 and 06 would work too but thats it. So all of the other transmissions I put in that I thought were bad were actually just not speaking the same language as.my truck. My question is, is there a way to flash over or make one of these transmission work?
