Tubular Side Steps

Does anyone have the GM tubular side steps? I need to add some steps so my kids can get in (Z-71 package). I'm not crazy about the GM running boards so I'm thinking about the gray tubular side steps. I'm wondering if they are painted to match the gray cladding. GMPartsdirect.com has them for $504 delivered, but I've found several other sites selling Westin steps and other brands for $225 or so. Do the GM bars look that muc better?

I have them - the grey ones, tough as a rock - 4 anchors to the frame - they match the cladding. They have held up well.

I just had the Westin chrome bars installed. I wasn't sure about the chrome bars vs. the factory steps, but I like it a lot.

I will post pics when I get the mudflaps and vent visors on...

We followed a black Z-71 Av that had tubular side steps that were painted black. It looked really good (black, gray, black). Ya, we gave them a brochure...

;D

hello gandolphxx,

I saw the pics of your AV on your site with the tubular steps and I like it a lot. Before I order the steps, could you please tell me how difficult (easy) it was to install this accessory? Simply bolt-on OR are there any drilling or welding required?

Thanks in advance.

i wanted the GM gray steps but couldn't justify paying double the price of the Westin steps(black)!!! I'm satisfied with the Westins.
Very easy to install!!!

I have the MANIK polished stainless steel . I like them and they are holding up well. One complaint. The sheet metal screws that hold the step pads on are visable and are not stainless....yeah ..they are rusty now! :(
