Looking for anyone that has been successful with adding an on/off switch to their airbags. We often have the midgate down and our 8 y.o. son up in the front seat.
Thanks
Brad

If you read the owners manual - your eight year old son is OK to ride in the front seat. According to the owner's manual you need to set the passenger seat as far back as it will go. But it is in the owner's manual that you can put any child, except a rear facing child seat in the front seat.

The airbag cutoff switch is a bear to do if you do it legally, requiring you jump through a lot of hoops, and spend a lot of money... ($350 to $500 depending on the part of the country and parts used)

Chief, I love you man, but if the owners manual told you to jump off the Empire State building . . . check the owner's manual for the Silverado (airbag cutoff switch equipped) and let's hear what GM says about the use of the switch in a so-equipped vehicle (you Silververado owners can come forward now :)). And for God sakes if there is anything I now know after reading through the posts on this board, the owner's manual ain't the final word (but feel free to install the oil filter specified in the owners manual in your 2500 ?;)) I ain't making any descisions for anyone else here, just giving them options and information . . .

and in case you cannot tell, I still think Chief is the best, without him I would not even have this forum to disagree with him!

and G-man, thanks for the correct link, I am lame in the tech dept.
