Ya know, since my daughter hasn't made them I was thinking just a couple days ago I'd rather it be made out of some sort of metal. I'm sure it could done and would outlast us. What I don't know is the $$$$$$$$$Question. For the people that need them, could they be made out of billet aluminum on a CNC? I would think if yes, you might be able to find a place to make them.

Link?does anyone have the measurements to be able to draw one up for it to be manufactured? my CNC or printer?
EDIT--- i now see that there is already a file for them on Thingiverse
as for a printer, i know some of the local libraries around me have printers and will print items for a small fee. i imagine other libraries around the country have similar set-ups.
Link?
Thanks!Chevy Avalanche Rear Glass Storage Lock by coolboarder654
This part replaced the factory Chevy Avalanche rear glass storage locks.www.thingiverse.com
the comments under it mention to "mirror" it to make the passenger side. This should be cool.
I hope the 3D project takes into account the left and right parts are different.
My daughter made one for me but I haven't had a chance to try to install it yet. I'll try to get to it this weekend and let you know how it goes. Of note, it is a bit different than the one that came off mine. i don't know if GM had a minor redesign somewhere along the lines or what.So did anyone on Thingiverse make these ? How do I go about buying some ?
I thought the same thing but the stem clearance is super tight and when the window is in store position it has plenty of torque on it. I looked everywhere for the weird clip that holds it on, I'll keep looking.I installed the driver side that my daughter printed for me this afternoon. Like you said, straight forward. I however and keeping the spring and backing plate in my center console just in case. I have a sneaky suspicion this is going to result in a rattle. I think the spring was there to keep it taught and not rattle around.
