I just ordered one of these boxes. Has anybody used it? What Subs do you recommend to use in this Box? What size amp?

Thanks for the help.

I think that if you install a sub box that does not allow you to fold down the seats and use the mid gate then It's been porly designed since there are subs out there than can be used that allow full functionality.

I myself built boxes to hold 6x9s that could also hold low perofile 8 inch subs!

the only box that allows you to use the midgate was made by a member, he will not divugle the dimensions and angles that he had to use. and it only fits an 8" sub which is not enough for some people, personally I like 10's.....

so if you know of a box that will fit a 10" sub, and does not need to be removed to use the midgate, please me me know and I will buy it tomorrow... this is the main reason I still don't have subs in my AV... actually it is the only reason.

I mounted my amps on the back of the seats, since my homemade box is pretty much the same, just a lot more ugly

if you want more bass you have to give up functionality.

You just described the JL Stealthbox..........you just have to give up some storage space and the hardly functional rear vents. In return you have a fully functional truck/midgate and a truly great sounding subwoofer.

I also don't agree with permanitly modifying my vehicle...
also the stealth box does not fit in the 03 console, only the 02, so guess that is not an option either *.

(*as per JL audio, this site, and 3 install shops in Phoenix I talked to)

Does anyone know the exact height to the seat bottom?? I am at work and have a CAD program at my disposal. I am trying to get a box to hold a single 10" driver (JL 10W0-4) as already have this sub from my previous vehical. I will be making the enclosure out of 3/4" MDF. Here is some info on the figures I am using..and these are straight from JL themselves.

10W0-4 125w RMS 250w Max@ 4 ohms
Mounting Depth: 5.375 in.
Displacement: 0.050 in.
Reccomended enclosure volume: sealed-0.75in/ported-1.25in

I just need the height from the floor to the seat bottom. I hope it is more than 5 1/2 inches! The rest of the box will be made to fill the void under the seats with room left on the passenger side for the amp and cap.

To let everyone know. I will be releasing all info I get and use to make this box on this site. I have no resources to make these boxs for others. So all info on dementions and drawings will be released to the general public. All info would be appreciated as for as floor to seat bottom dementions as far as max clearence under drivers seat, clearence from floor to middle seat bottom and also from front to back clearences. I can always notch the box to fit under or around any obstructions to give the recommended enclosure volume of 0.75 cu. in sealed factoring in speaker displacement and also and displacement caused by box manufacturing around seat braces.

Thanks for any info.
