Well I am surprized at the number of responses that first post generated ...

To all that took the time out to post -thank you- you made my decision a little easier.

Now the update - I found an Indigo blue Z71 1500 with 410 gears and a few other minor options ... My biggest concern was finding one with these two "MUST HAVE" options 4.10 gears and the Z71 off road package.

Also, didn't want leather and just about every one that is left on the lots for sale have leather. Out of about 20 or so AV's on assorted local area GM dealership lots this was the ***ONLYONE*** with 4.10 gears. Sales droid told me 4.10's usually in the 2500 not 1500. Well I believe him as I couldn't find another with 4.10's to save my soul. I checked all surrounding via the Internet and no luck ...

But here's the good news I bought this one cause I got it for $150.00 over cost and he gave me what I wanted for my Dodge in a trade. This guy pulled no punches showed me (what I already knew anyway) the invoice price. They get to keep all there holdback money, I get what I want for my Dodge plus $2500.00 from GM and paying $150.00 over invoice I think is a fair deal - - -

So I will be tooling around in a new AV ASAP and will be like that other fella on the board an all GM family ... I'm happy (for the moment) glad to be here. Hope we can all enjoy one anothers company in the near future (sorry for the long post). :B:

I'm glad our (sometimes maniacal) ranting about the virtues of our beloved trucks didn't discourage you! Very glad you were able to find an 02 with your "must have" options...they're getting pretty thin with the more rare options (like 4.10's)

Great choice. I hope it works out for you. I am planning on ordering mine today.
The gear ratio is smart too. I have never seen anybody with 4.10's wish they had the 3.73's but several with 3.73's had wished they went the other way, especially for towing. The lower gears also make it easier to go to bigger tires.

Congrats on your new Av. You're a better man than I for holding out for the 4.10 gears. I had a similar problem finding Z-71's with the 4.10, and I just couldn't hold back long enough to find a black one :rolleyes:. But I'd rather get the black with 3.73 than a color I didn't want just for 4.10.
 
Congrats on holding out for what you wanted. I searched high and low for mine. The sales people were loaded down with 3.73 gears. Some even tried to convince me that the 4.10 was only good if you were towing a huge boat. Must be over 25 feet or it wasn't worth it. Very happy to see you stood your ground and got what you wanted.

Good for you, you made a good choice. Now maybe everyone will be more polite!! :)

The best thing I like about the Av is that it rides like a dream, not like a truck.
 
Congrats on your new Av....about the only thing that I would have done different with my Av is the 4.10's instead of the 3.73's......no biggie.... :B:
 
Congratulations, that was easy, and you will love it, now break it in quickly so that youcan start the modding process. ;D
